[External Power Supplies for Klipsch MC3?]

Okay, I understand now.

 

Here is something I found.  It will deliver 12 volts and higher if needed for another application.  This is a plus in my book.  What I don't know is whether the plugs will work with the Klipsch unit.  But it seems it comes with quite a few.  http://www.all-battery.com/tenergypower16multi-voltageforlaptop-51097.aspx

 

Generally I find that nothing is cheap in these external power / battery supplies with rechargeable batteries.

 

In my research on other projects I've seen that D alkaline batteries are very respectable as far as energy to weight.   Better than rechargeable types.

Yeah, thats sort of what I had in mind. I was seeing things like this on Amazon. But of course, I'm not going to try it unless I knew for sure it would work.

Thanks William. I am not referring to the regular external power supply (the one you mention looks like a laptop power supply).

I am indeed referring to some sort of power pack or battery supply pack. As I mentioned, someone in the Amazon review section mentioned using one of these with one if these boom boxes. The person who posted did not go into specifics about what they were using (32000mah power supply was all that was said). And they didn't address someone's specific question asking exactly what this was, so I was wondering myself if this was real or not.

So I don't know if this can be done. I was imagining some sort of power pack that you plug into the AC to charge up, and then unplug and bring with you to plug into your other devices, giving them power for some time before you need to charge the power pack back up again.

The manual downloaded from klipsch.com has instructions about using "the" external power supply. So it seems to come with the unit as purchased. This looks like a typical laptop power supply.

Are you asking about some sort of external battery? You mention a 32000 mAh power pack. That translates to 32 amp hours. A pretty good sized "Sealed Lead Acid" battery (SLA) can do that. It will be large, and heavy. I wonder if the information you received is correct.

Has anyone found an external battery or power supply that can be used with the Klipsch KMC3?

 

There were some reviews on Amazon or some other sites that mentioned that this could be done using a 32000mAh external power pack connected to the DC input. There was no mention of what specifically was used. I’d like to verify that this is true and find out specifically what has been used and how well it works. Whether I buy the KMC3 is probably going to be dependent on this information.
