Ha. I found this thread. I was looking for
;)

Does anyone know where that is? It was like in the late 1990s/early 2000s or so. It was funny. It showed a guy standing to walk with his old school computer, CRT monitor, Klipsch ProMedia speakers, etc.
Thank you in advance.

Klipsch's online support offered me to replace the whole subwoofer for about 20 bucks + shipping + taxes. They also said they not do parts that I was looking for. The subwoofer replacement could only be done through the phone (800-554-7724), currently back ordered (4-6 weeks), and have long waits to answer. I e-mailed back if it can be online, and they said no. Lame! I gave up since I found a local small store in Garden Grove with the parts.

I think your best bet would be to find replacement drivers from partsexpress.com.
On the surface these look like a good fit but a little pricey http://www.parts-express.com/tang-band-w6-1139sif-6-1-2-paper-cone-subwoofer-speaker--264-919
You could try the cheaper option of these http://www.parts-express.com/goldwood-gw-406d-6-1-2-poly-dvc-subwoofer-shielded--290-352
$48/each or $15/each. At $96/pair, you might be better off buying a replacement sub on eBay for parts.
Replace the whole part and not just the foam? The rubber foam rings was already removed. Too bad Klipsch doesn't sell parts. They wanted me to replace the whole thing! Um, no if it works. Just need part replacements.

Hello.
Where can I buy/get replacements for Klipsch ProMedia v2-400 subwoofer's cracked foam rings? Any from Best Buy, Radio Shack, Costco, Walmart, Fry's Electronics, etc. in or near Los Angeles (L.A.) area?
Thank you in advance.

I'm back. My parents wanted to use my broken old speakers with their new HDTV. Its subwoofer is still busted when we tested it. My dad()dy)/father/pa(ppy) decided to remove the side dust covers. We saw the rubber rings broken and cracked. Without the rubbers, the subwoofer still makes bad noises. Putting duct tapes over the circle piece seems to help a little. However, he did like the surround sound.

Haha, it is in http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1755129 too. Man, I miss my v2-400 speakers. They're in the garage, but its subwoofer is busted.

Heh, I wished mine were still working fully (its subwoofer went bust -- no more bass, all stutterings). Mine lasted almost a decade by about nine months (12/1999 to 3/7/2009).Awesome.
And ofcourse, we're 12 years older too LOL
I bought pc speakers (Accoustic Energy) of a similar quality at the time because the Klipsch speakers weren't available here, and they're *still* on my desk too. Talking about value for money. I keep telling that to ppl, good quality speakers will outlast quite a few pc systems. So a good headphone/ speaker setup is a good investment in my opinion.

Did Hofy's setup get submitted to seeifixed.com yet?Looks like something out of "See! I fixed it!"
http://seeifixedit.com/ (self-moderation note: http://seeifixedit.com/ is mostly clean, but other associated sites linked in the banner at the top of the page are not: Some are most asuredly NOT family- and work-friendly, notably the MyDrunk series.)

I read complaints about midrange for Logitech Z-2300. What exactly is this? I don't know if my old Klispch ProMedia v2-400 played it in the past. Does anyone know?

Does Best Buy let you listen to audio samples? It will be different than in being in a room.Let me know what you come up with once you have decided which is better.

Ah. Well, itlooks like Logitech speakers are my first picks. I am going to Best Buy this weekend to check both Bose and Logitech speaker sets out. Logitech is way cheaper!

Any comments on Logitech Z-2300? These are THX certified and seems to have higher/better ratings and cheaper than Bose's.

I do like the tiny speaker sizes. I hope I will like the control. Also, no power button like Klipsch's speakers, right? I just unplug its power or turn off the power strip for that part.
I remember these Klispch ProMedia are THX certified. I assume Bose isn't since I don't see any mentioned. Does that matter these days?

I noticed Bose Companion 3 Series II 2.1's bass control is in the rear of the subwoofer. What's with that? I put my Klipsch ProMedia subwoofer on the floor. I can't imagine having to adjust the bass a lot like that. Does the control pod have one? I don't see one.

I read a few reviews and watched a few video reviews and they seem to love Bose ones. Hmm! I even found Apple UK selling it!

Interesting. Since I cannot find a Klipsch brand, I might get Bose even though it costs more. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7933748&st=Bose+Companion+3+series+II&lp=1&type=product&cp=1&id=1152228083992 seems to have high ratings and have it in my local store so I can look and listen to it! However, it is too late today and I want to research more. Any more feedbacks are welcomed.

Thanks Mr. Clean. Yeah, I like Klipsch ProMedia's subwoofer. It rocked (when it worked). Bose is good? I remember people hating it. Are they better now?

Wait, they lowered the thumping/bass in the 2.1 one? That's not cool. I love the v2-400 because of its bass. I didn't even have to crank it up much either! I don't play loud to hear my ears, but I do love the shakings!
Hmm, I think it is time to move on. I wonder how Cambridge Soundworks are.

I messed up in my original post and fixed it. I unplugged ALL speakers and left subwoofer to do some bass part when playing THX, music, etc. It rattlings badly with some low frequencies.
Do any local retail stores (e.g., Costco, Walmart, Fry's Electronics, Best Buy) still sell 2.1 speakers because I can't find any! I don't do online ordering.
Also how good is 2.1 speakers compared to the old v2-400 model? I recall people having problems of them dying fast. The only two problems I had were the noisy volume control (got used to it) and subwoofer starting to act up with its old age.

As of last night, it looks like my subwoofer is getting worse. Now, it can't play low frequency bass very well (do still feel and hear a little of those oomphs). I tried a MacBook Pro and same bass problem. I unplugged all the speakers, including the one with control pod, and I still heard the subwoofer rattling badly inside, and little bass. If I turn down/off bass on my soundcard, then I do not hear this loud and annoying rattling. I checked all the cables. I did notice if I wiggle the power cable behind the subwoofer, it makes noises. Is that normal?
I think it is time to find a new speaker set. I looked at my local retail stores for Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speakers (realized I don't really need four or more speakers), but no one seems to have them like Best Buy. What's up with that?
Do I have to go to another brand like Cambridge Soundworks (are they any good today?)?
Thank you in advance.
