Hello! Have found this forum a great help in the past, and have another question: My current set up is a Technics SL-1500 with Ortofon OM 3E connected to a Marantz 1060 connected to Klipsch Forte's I think my needle / cartridge needs replacement and am curious if people have any recommendations? Are the Ortofon 2M blue or red really worth it? Are there any needles/cartridges ideal for this set up?? Thanks for the help! Michael

still deciding between Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Esprit (w/ Ortofon Blue and Acryllic platter, its a custom package a local retailer put together for a nice price) and Rega Planar (it takes me a long time to buy!)

Thanks, appreciate it! I really like how simple the 1060 looks. The DAC stuff confuses me but have been thinking about it for a while, I get the concept but trying to figure out how to listen to / playback digital not having to control it through my computer...feel like buying an ipod touch might work, but then you need a dock, whatever stupid dongle, a cable from that to the DAC plus whatever audioquest (or similar level) cables out of there, and I'm not even sure how much better itll sound...

Hello, Still semi newish to this forum! I'm moving into a new place, and naturally feel the urge to upgrade my system. I currently have a pair of Forte IIs with a Marantz 2015 (the baby). Am curious if you'd consider the 2230 or 1060 an upgrade / would there be a logical step up (receiver wise, i love my speakers too much!) from where im at? Lastly any recommendations on DACs, I listen mostly to records, but I was looking to upgrade my digital audio too and saw someone suggest the schiit modi Thanks in advance!

Hello, Pretty much everything I've read has said that the Rega Planar 2 or 3 and the Pro-ject debut carbon and X1 are the best turntables for under $1000 (my approximate range) Is there one of the above that is the obvious choice or should i search for a vintage turntable? I have a decent set up , marantz 2015 receiver and klipsch forte II floor standing speakers Would love to hear your thoughts, thanks!
