Great work, but I'm going to be a little bit critic: with all the posts about the superiority of 2 inch mid horns and drivers, why not making your own Fastrac or Eliptrac 2inch horn, mated with the new PRV D2200Ph phenolic driver? Would give you even better sound than anything based on a K400 design.

As tweeter I always recommend Beyma CP25... a great tweeter made in Spain and widely available in Europe. But, it's quite big, and won't fit in a stock size LaScala top hat.

Qudos for the build tho! I wish I had your woodworking talents!

    thanks for the suggestions.
this is just the beginning for my experiments on high sensitivity and horn loudspeakers.
I was already thinking about building a new horn using the same driver.
unfortunately in Italy speakers made in the USA are difficult to find if not at prices at which it is not convenient to buy them.

  2. This is my pandemia hobby during the winter 2020/2021.

In march finished all, but only now I mounted all.

I made various spakers over the years, but i would recommend this one for the more skilled DIY and demanding HIFI lovers.

The wood horn is a little masterpiece for me

  3. The speaker is amazing: sound good with all: classical, rock, jazz, pop.

There is a huge dynamics, and i can "hear more".

The old DTQWT speakers, very very good to tell the truth, immediately ended up in a corner.

I agree with those who said the lascala is a definitive speaker: they get along well with all genres

  4. There are more discussions about respect the measures at mm  on diy speaker and .... some people (in this case) add braces or other mods.

But braces modify the measure that we respect at mm... or not?

In this case are very usefull and cheaper solution. The alternative is a lateral panel thickness.

Anyway for me little difference do not change the project ...😁
