  1. I've been in your shoes. I was looking both for RC-7 and RS-7, and was outbid on eBay as well. Just when I lost hope, another RC-7 showed up on eBay, and I won it. I got a pair of RS-7 from a forum member that lives in my area. With some more patience, I am sure you will find them!
  2. Fish, I did - I purchased a used B&K AVR-307 from forum member Mike (boston_klipsch). It's arriving next Wednesday, can't wait. I also sold my Sony receiver yesterday for $300!
  3. I have a very very similar room in terms of size and postioning. From your drawing, if you take all furniture (except kitchen table) and equipment and rotate it 180 degrees, then close the opening to other room you'll get exactly my room and setup. Gear is listed in my signature, and for me it is more than enough for a room of this size. I think the optimal placement (as per Klipsch manual) of surround speakers is 5 to 7 feet from the gound, so you should be OK with the surrounds height. I recommend RS for side surrounds, not RC, but that is my preference. I have also used RB-5 II (now in my bedroom) for side surrounds at some time. I personally am satisfied with 5.1 system - what is the distance between the couch and back wall? I would think it's about 3-4 feet from the drawing. I would try to place the sub on the same level as the F/C channels (less problems with phase and distance adjustment). The right hand corner seems perfect, consider moving that piece of furniture to the back wall. Get the biggest center speaker that your space/wallet can allow. I cannot explain how much better is my RC-7 compared to RC-3 II (for sale). I can't speak for any of the new reference line speakers. Good luck, hope this helps.
  4. I spoke with Lonnie at Emotiva today before shipping back the units. Since he personally tested the second unit completely, Lonnie said that at this point there is nothing they can do about it, and that the obvious reason is LMC-1 puts out too much noise for Klipsch speakers. We also discussed the volume control implementation, and Lonnie told me volume control on LMC-1 is implemented on the output. Worthy of noting (for people with Rx-7 series speakers) is that my RS-7s and RC-7 hissed more than my RF-3 II. RS-7 hissed the worst - they have 2 horns, and with their WDST design were great at filling up the room with hiss... Again, this is my experience, and should not discourage people from trying out Emotiva (if they don't mind paying for shipping back, it cost me $118).
  5. Just for the record, I finally received LMC-1 replacement today, and I am sorry to say that it also has the same hiss as the first one.
  6. I did send you a PM yesterday! I'll send you an email now.
  7. I haven't heard from lynchman66, so mrseamus, do you want to get it?
  8. lynchman66, you PMed me two days ago, and I haven't heard from you since. I'll wait one more day before I sell it to someone else.
  9. I wouldn't go with RS-35, you should be able to find a pair of RS-7 within a month or two, either on this forum, or eBay.
  10. lynchman66 PM me he wanted my RC-3 II, but now I see he has a thread where he is looking for an RC-7. If he doesn't come thru, its yours.

    WTB RC7

Didn't you PM me and wanted my RC-3? Let me know if you'll go with RC-7, because someone else is interested.
  12. Someone claimed the RC-3 I am currently using RC-7 with RF-3 II fornts and am very happy, I think the timbre match is perfect.
  13. Here you go, small pictures: http://www.dryfast.net/images/klipsch/small/IMG_2596.JPG http://www.dryfast.net/images/klipsch/small/IMG_2597.JPG http://www.dryfast.net/images/klipsch/small/IMG_2598.JPG http://www.dryfast.net/images/klipsch/small/IMG_2599.JPG http://www.dryfast.net/images/klipsch/small/IMG_2600.JPG http://www.dryfast.net/images/klipsch/small/IMG_2601.JPG http://www.dryfast.net/images/klipsch/small/IMG_2602.JPG http://www.dryfast.net/images/klipsch/small/IMG_2603.JPG http://www.dryfast.net/images/klipsch/small/IMG_2604.JPG http://www.dryfast.net/images/klipsch/small/IMG_2605.JPG
  14. You're kidding right? The pictures a huge.
  15. I have the RC-3 II still sitting gathering dust. Figured out never gonna use 6.1, so I am giving it away for $100 + shipping.
  16. I am returnig Emotiva, and getting a B&K AVR-307 that is for sale by boston_klipsch on the forum. Emotiva is too noisy and too slow in decoding. If it was for a secondary duty in a bedroom, it might be ok, but it does not cut it as a primary audio equipment. Please, tell me I am not making a mistake with B&K AVR-307.
  17. I might be interested. Currently I am trying out Emotiva LMC-1 and LPA-1 combo, and the LMC-1 hisses with my Klipsch speakers. Emotiva is sending me a replacement, and if it hisses, I will very much like to get your B&K. What speakers do you have, how does it sound, and why are you selling it?
  18. Some update on the hissing issue with LMC-1. I have not yet received the replacement unit. Yesterday I pulled out 2 Quintet II satelites that I have in my closet. Hooked them up as fronts and listened to some music. LMC-1 is not hissing at all with the Quintets - their sensitivity is 90db. All other speakers are 98db - RF-3 II, RC-7, RS-7. So what should I conclude from this test? The LMC-1 is not a good match for very sensitive speakers?
  19. FIsh, don't know about my hearing abilities , but the 6 year old Sony is not hissing with the same source, and the HK 645 wasn't either. When you say most pre/pros hiss, do you mean they hiss more than receivers?
  20. I spoke with Dan at Emotiva, and they will be sending a new LMC. He said it could be deffective. The hiss I am hearing is at a constant level. As soon as I increase the volume to 1, the hissing starts and stays the same level even though I am increasing the volume. I must turn the music up to about 70db so that I don't hear the hiss. But again, in quiet passages, the hiss is obvious. I am hoping the replacement will not have this problem. Waiting time again...
  21. Yes, I believe so. I sit about 10 feet away, and the hiss is obvious and annoying, it overpowers quiet passages in music and movies, no matter how high or low the volume is. If the volume is at 0, there is no hiss, but as soon as I turn it slightly up, the hiss starts. I have the feeling the hiss stays at a fixed level, so it is very obvious at low levels. Could it be the LMC-1 I received is deffective?
  22. Crap! It's their LMC-1 pre/pro! Just plugged in my Sony STR-DA5ES as a pre/pro and there is NO HISS. The LMC-1 is deffinitely going back. I will think about the amp... The experience was ruined.
  23. Received Emotiva and the look is impressive... BUT... Plugged it in and was greated by 100 snakes - hiss hiss hiss hiss hiss hiss hiss hiss hiss hiss hiss hiss hiss. Never heard my speakers hissing like this. HELP! I read another post where the issue was with bad interconnects, but I am using tested cable that I know is problem free. HELP!
  24. I must admit shortly before HK locked up, my PC was acting up giving some audio errors. The bitstream must have been messed up, nevertheless, a good micro-proceesor and firmware should expect and handle garbage stream, not just lock up. Anyways, I got shipment and tracking info from Emotiva, it will get here on May 1.
