1. I took some pictures of how the response curve of my old Forte III compared to my CW IV. This does not take into account if I had the speakers in the exact same location, they are set up in the same general location but maybe not pointed exactly the same so take this for nothing other than its something. The graph with the bigger dips and peaks is the Forte III.6c15b68241eb204b49e1e74a88e5bb3d.jpgadfa9c4a9233cc1f43eb6566e6ed3333.jpg

2. Watched the new video comparing Cornwall IV vs Forte IV. Difficult to identify differences other than the obvious difference in output volume.

Judging  sound quality based on You tube videos is not easy, I do hope both Cornwalls and Fortes are substantially better when you’re in the room with them.
I guess the value is more in listening to the comments being made rather than listening to the recording of the speakers sound.

I would buy both try em out and keep the one you like best. The CW is not about the ability to go louder, thats not why its bigger. Bigger box adds a bit of realism to the sound imo. Hard to explain and can only be experienced. The obvious difference is the low end, the CW goes lower and its a clean low end. Good luck man let us know what you do!

3. I’m really tempted by these but I’m also interested in the Cornwall IVs. What do you think, in a room 18x16 (more or less open at one of the shorter walls) and 10’ ceiling, which one is best suited for my room?

Currently trying out some JBL 4349 which work just fine in the room and are great. They do however tend to be a bit bright when played at higher volume (depends on the recording though).
I have CW, my room is about 13x13, I like the huge soundstage. I think the biggest sound difference is the bass and like I said just even more real sound just due to the size. It would be hard for me to downsize now.

4. In my opinion book match doesnt mean kinda close, which mine are not that. Its you split the wood and the two cut faces become the veneer, basically the speakers should be twins to within just a hair if any of variance.

5. Don't be worried, I'm sure that doesn't happen often...  I was wondering if the top of one of those black Cornwalls matched the bottom of the other .   The Cherry pair I got was ser# 0073 and 0074 and they look like identical twins.
I do not follow, do you mean maybe the veneer was installed upside down?

6. Not trying to stir the pot, but, if you paid full price and did not receive what was advertised, I would ask for at the minimum, B stock pricing. If you ever sell, your re-sale value will be lower. If the dealer is good they will give you the adjusted price and he can then fight with Klipsch for his credit. $4500.00 is a lot of money and you should get what you paid for.
I agree with you. I am bummed about the possibility of having to get them replaced but if I get offered a discount I would jump on that. I think the value lies mostly in proper serial #'s, the veneer not being identical is somewhat minor.

I will say though they are very interesting looking in my room, they really stand out as being different but because its just a flat color it actually looks cool. Like a couple tigers brithers sitting in the corner. If they matched identical it would actially be a bit less interesting. That being said im not suggesting non matched is better, but what I got is working for me, but I am not ok paying full price.

7. Hi Darkscience

the boxes match and do the labels on the back of the speakers match your home?

Yes all that matches on mine. The backs match the serial numbers on the boxes. Same guys signature on mine too.

8. I believe bookmatched is only applicable on speakers with a natural finish, i.e., cherry, walnut, etc. Black covers more of the detail of the grain and color of the veneer. There's nothing wrong with the veneer... it's just the way they do it. Perhaps someone could verify that. I could be off the wall thinking it.

9. Darkscience,

The pattern on the top of my speakers look the same as yours, however, the sides look like a monster's face, lol!   I'm pretty OCD, but this doesn't bother me because I don't really see the sides anyways, and the speakers are black to begin with.  Here's a pic:

Haha thats awesome. Im not that OCD, but I do like getting what I paid for. There is a certain amount of rolling the dice with the wood grain. How is the book match on yours? Is the monster on both speakers? Curious since you also went black ash. Black Ash Forte IV is what I had originaly ordered before changing that to CW IV.

10. Darkscience --- Your photos look at least like the tops are bookmatched pretty closely to me - not perfect but pretty darn close. Am I missing something or are they not matched on your sides? Don't see photos of the sides so maybe that's what you are referring to?
You made me think about how to get a better shot. Here is one of the left side of each speaker, I used Flash and it worked well.03398f2f1e1460325237976fc57fada6.jpg12f7b823db2a77614f9f027fbe9dda3c.jpg

The sides are worse, but I could not get a good shot with the light I have. I will take more Saturday. But yea its two comepletely different veneers, the one with the tighter grain almost looks like oak on the sides. The one with the bigger hoops and bigger pores looks the same on the sides and is completely different. Like I said though I think I can live with it, but it is not what I expected when I paid. I also have a couple pair of Forte III's come through and I could not tell one speaker from the other due to the book matching.

Take a look at the lines that run accross the top of on speaker, those lines do not exist in the other one. If it was one of the other wood types it would be easier to see, here all we have to compare is the wood grain because the speakers are basically satin black with no detail.

12. I recorded with my Samsung 8 phone, use headphones and it will give you a sense. When the voice comes in the phone picked it up small but it almost sounds hes in the room trying to sing.

13. Congrats on the speakers. Report back once you have a good handle on how they sound.

Shakeydeal...dude...I never knew drums could sound this good from a speaker...for whatever reason, Metallica sounds insanely good on Klipsch Heritage Speakers. The experience is unreal. Klipsch is the best period, any of them, just get the highest and latest model you can afford at the time and you did good.

As I typed this the next song came on...man the guitars...im so happy guys thats all I can say. I have a feeling the AHB2 with its non existant of even hint of a hiss pairs well with super sensitive speakers. Although I have never heard tubes, I have a feeling the AHB2 comes close to the tube sound because its so clear. Maybe there are some other benefits from it being SS idk.

14. The Forte IV manual states that they're supplied with self-stick rubber feet, but I cannot locate any in the packaging.  Did anyone receive the feet, and if so, where did you find them?

Thanks
I got feet in the owners manual black folder. Check in there.

15. Personally I would not sweet it too much. No one but yourself will ever notice. Supposedly  book matched is something Klipsch just started a few years ago. Shipping back and taking luck on new ones received without damage to me would be a worse situation. Miss the days when one just went to store and bought speakers in stock.
I am scared of rolling the dice on new ones. I had some bad luck with the III's I had, the dealer keeps taking care of me though and I honestly do not like posting this kind of stuff but it is an issue. Not sure if I am allowed to mention dealer names or not but either way, they have some of the best customer service I have ever had the pleasure to deal with. If I want new ones they will continue to send them to me until I am happy so not worried here. (Or give a discount). Kind of just wanted to see peoples reaction to it, I am a very forgiving person sometimes and a bad judge of when I need to fight for my rights so to speak.

16. There is one flaw, I did not want to bring it up because I do not know what I am going to do about yet. (Most likely nothing). The speakers are serial number matched, they match the boxes, the boxes match the two serial numbers that are suppose to be paired. BUT the veneer on the speakers are not bookmatched, not even close. I kinda like em that way, kind of like an error on a coin if you know what I mean. If the serial #'s were not matched I would raise hell, but this issue is meh, and I might even like it. The sound though, trying not to sound over top but HOLY COW! They sound so detailed and full. Love them.

17.
I assure you that you won't be disappointed in the CW IV.

You were correct, and the finish work is nicer than my Forte III. They sound better than then my Forte III did out of the box, I imagine the Forte IV will sound close to this, congrats to everyone getting them. One of the initial things I noticed is the sound doesnt change as much as the III's did when walking around the room. Cya all. 8381c889afaa25bf7ca6cba681d372f3.jpg

18. I am sad I will not be joining the Forte IV club. I returned the III's and instead went with Cornwall IV, mostly due to my lack in patience of waiting for the Satin Black Ash to be available, (and also saw my son poking at the passive radiator and that pushed me over the top). If they ever come out in matte black im going to get them...just
not sure how to sneak that by the wife.
