Change the TV mount to a drop down. Your neck will be happier. Buy and roll in an equipment rack on wheels. You need to be able to get at the back of the equipment so roll out is your best option. Remove the lower shelf from the corner recess. Raise the shelf to elevation that works for you and touch up the drywall and paint.  Install removable cable trays. Try Legrand. Buy a center channel speaker stand. Ear level. Place the sub where it sounds best in your room. These mounts from Pinpoint mounts seem perfect for what I'm looking for. Wondering if anyone sees a problem with these. I think it mostly depends on what the mantle is made of, but I can presumably fill it when we move (which shouldn't be for three years).

From how the shelf on the left looks, I assume I can just lift it out. I imagine I can just remove it and lean it against the wall while still fitting an audio rack if I wanted to.

The inset above the sub on the right, is there an electrical outlet there as well? If not, then you may be looking at powering the Denon into the same outlet as the sub.

Not ideal install but, will work with what you have.

I'm not entirely sure just yet. I'll have to check once we get another look, but as of now, the only thing I''ll need to be plugging in are the receiver and the sub.

If by "real" you mean wood and fire, as opposed to electric, I'm not sure. We only toured once before getting approved. If I had to guess, I would imagine it's electric, and it's likely we'll use it at some point.

So we're moving in about a month and the attached image is of the new living room we'll have. One thing to keep in mind is that we're renting, so construction projects or changing too many things isn't really an option.

 

I currently have the following Klipsch setup and I'm struggling to figure out a way to set things up.

 

Denon AVR-X3700H 9.2-Channel 8K

2x Klipsch RP-280FA

Klipsch RP-450C

Klipsch R-120SW

 

I'm sure the 280FA's will be fine on the edges of the area, but I have a few questions:

 

1) If the subwoofer fits in that lower right corner, would this be a reasonable place for it?

2) Does anyone know of an efficient way to display the center channel? Right now, I'm thinking of just mounting it with some brackets on the area between the TV and the fireplace. Alternatively, I was thinking of buying/building a simple table the depth of the 450C (14 inches) that it could sit on and would frame the fireplace.

3) Does anyone have any suggestions on how to manage cables in a setup like this? I worry I'll just have speaker and power cables going all over the fireplace.

 

If anyone has had any experience with a situation like this, or sees an easy solution I'm overlooking, I would really appreciate the help! Thanks!

As of now, I'm pretty much leaning toward the Marantz SR6013 and the Denon AVR-X3700H, mostly because I want to made sure I have HDMI 2.1. I don't care about 8k or having 9.2 though, so if anyone has any cheaper recommendations that fulfill similar roles, I'd love to hear 'em!

I don't own a home, we just rent, and we move occasionally so I just don't have any desire to set up and wire and arrange surround speakers. I may get a sub, but I'm trying to keep a smaller profile for now, and I'm not entirely sure I'd need it, but it would definitely be the next purchase on the list.

As for Atmos, I picked these speakers simply because it's included in the 280FA's and it's just an additional layer of depth I can have without adding any other physical components to the set up.

Hey guys!

I've decided to upgrade my home theater and, after doing a good deal of research, I've settled on the Klipsch RP-280FA and RP-450C. Even though they're a few years old, they seem to be in the perfect price vs. quality range, and everything I see tells me the jump to the RP-8000F isn't worth the price bump (plus I do like both the Atmos and the Cherry options for the 280FA's).

What I'm looking for is some suggestions for an AV receiver; there are just so many options out there. I'll primarily be using the system for music, movies, and TV shows, and I'm not super interested in surround sound or pairing it with a sub right now. I'd also prefer to keep it under $1,000, but if you swear by something that's slightly over, I'd be interested in hearing about it.
