About Me

Lurking here, and a couple of other forums for a couple of decades, my Cornwalls brought me here, signed up because saw something  in the garage sale spot.  Essentially a newbie, way too busy with job and life, never had time to devote to audio stuff, but retired recently (still dont have enough time), need to do something with the stuff I bought, most on used markets that were vintage back then ( Cornwalls, $500.00, that's how long ago), along the way.

Mostly listen to records, still have the first album I bought, "Elvis is Back", emphasis on chamber, jazz, especially hard bop, post bop, Coleman and Threadgill and like (felt, IMHO, that jazz heroic period ended with Ayler, still luv him but can't listen to atonal or dissonant stuff any more, but what the jazz kids are doing sounds fresh to me, sending me on a new series of buying)  Baroque, can't get enough, got the Great Courses set on Baroque to learn more.

And this spot is great for learning more. Went to the Capital Audio fest last year, the first time I went to one of these, avoided them because I thought I would come home and be disappointed with the sound of my system, but it was fun and informative.  Noticed that at first everything sounded great,  but then my ears started to get picky. Guess that's how it works.
