I was thinking the same to be honest that there wasn't much to gain by porting the fronts...Its more about the encolsure size the rears do sound good but just wondered if increasing the size of the enclosure would enhance the sound for the front as these will be driven at a higher volume than the rears

Hi billybob, not sure what you mean. I have run 14 gauge cable through the ceilings and walls to the speaker positions keeping all runs at least 12inches from any mains electric cables and crossing at 90deg where i neded to cross. havn't run the cables in the media wall yet but was going to run them in 14gauge aswell.

Hello All, Some advice please. I am building a theater room and going with a mostly Klipsch system. for Atmos I am using 4x DS-160CDT, for the side surounds (not purchsed yet) probably either R-40SA or R-40M and for the rear surounds I have already installed a pair of PRO-25RW LCR's. These were installed into a 9" Aerated concrete block wall which i cut out and then lined to create speaker boxes with Acoustic Drywall and these were made to the same internal size of the Klipsch's optional back boxes. For the front left and right speakers speaker I was going to use a set of Floor standing speakers. However I am so impressed with the sound from the PRO-25RW LCR I have decided that rather than have the clutter of floor speakers I will incorporate the front left and right into the media wall. This time i will use a pair of PRO-250RPW LCR's instead. My question is, as i have much more available space for the front speakers should i construct a larger box or keep it the same size as i did for the rears. The available space i have is a depth of 400mm, height of 1100mm and a width of 260mm so there is plenty of space. also is there any benefits of porting the enclosure or would it be better to keep it sealed. I am not trying to get low bass out of the speakers as i have built some ported subwoofer boxes into the media wall that will be running a pair of Dayton Audio RSS315HF-4. I used the program www.speakerboxlite.com to calculate the box and port size for the Subs but I have no idea about what to do for the enclosures for the PRO-250RPW LCR's. I wil probably be using a Denon AVC-X4800 with a seperate amp for the fronts and Subs. Also for the centre channel I can either go with the Klipsch RP-404C II or build my own box and install a PRO-25RW or PRO-250RPW LCR. I am limited to the depth and height of the centre chanel as i have a Hisense 120L9H laser TV and any more depth than the RP-404C II will obscure the laser from the projector. I am quite new to all this and would be grateful for some advise from those out there that are more experianced. I have attached a photo showing thew Media wall under construction. I have marked in Red the position for the front left and righ speakers and in blue where the subs are going. Kind Regards Kevin
