chknlil
All, I need some help. I am working on a new media room in my homes basement and want to upgrade my theatre equipment while I am at it. Still keeping a nice looking room etc. So the only visable speakers I want are my fronts and center. This is going to be a 7.1 setup. Thus. I've decided to purchase 4 rcr-5's for surronds, 2 rf7's for fronts and an rf center channel speaker as well. I'm having trouble deciding on the placement of the rcr5's! What is the best configuration for them? Here is my room layout: Room Dimensions: 22' X 13' B HDTV F C F seating X X X X Legend: F = Front C = Center B = SUB X = Surround I'm thinking of placing the first rear surronds at about 10 feet apart and just to the side and behind the listener, and the second set of surronds about 5 feet apart but set back about 5 feet from the first set of surronds. Does this make sense? I don't want to make any mistakes in this design as it could have grave consequences to the sound of my room. Any suggestions from folks? Thanks a bunch for reading this guys! Steve Phillips
Jeff, Your thoughts on surround and rear center location are fine and would be my suggestion as well. I have had excellent results with that placement.
