PWK At work

HDBRbuilder

A few weeks after we stopped building HDBR/L style Birch Heresy cabinets, my foreman told me to grab one of the Heresy cabinets I had built that day go over to the lab (which was what is NOW the museum) because PWK wanted to take interior dimensions of a random sample of the new style Birch Heresy cabinets. The new cabinet style had what we called "drop-in fronts" which means the motorboards were dropped into the front of the cabinet and secured with glue and staples to glue blocks instead of being an integral part of the cabinet build. Here is PWK, measuring that cabinet for its outside dimensions and its inside dimensions to ensure those dimensions remained within the allowable limits established for the previous cabinet build. Note to the left in the pic is a LaScala with the wedge inserts installed in the bass bin on either side of the doghouse assembly in order to stiffen the cabinet and improve the response curve.
