  1. Craig, Thanks for the kind input. I purchased the 7591A Electro-Harmonix output tubes last year as 2 matched sets. I have the original boxes with the transconductance number written on each box. I will send those tubes in the boxes. I believe they were from Vacuum Tube Valley. They are out of warranty from the mfr. I will guarantee them to be working upon delivery. The rectifier is new also and has low hours. The Sylvania and Raytheon tubes were purchased from a hamfest and were in the old boxes sold as N.O.S. I have used this amp daily for the past year without any trouble. I can't guarantee it other than it will work fine upon delivery and be as described on Ebay. I will be available for any questions after the sale. Best regards, Ron
  2. Craig, The green caps are ERO polypropylene coupling caps. The big yellow ones are N.P. 4.7UF poly used to bypass c18/c118 of the driver tubes for the phase splitters. The original ones were leaky. They are a little overkill for this application but that's all the guitar shop had at the time. I read some of the suggestions for upgrades/mods on the H.H.Scott web site and other sites and there were so many opinions on what sounded good that I decided to leave the amp mostly stock. I replaced the parts that were out of tolerance and leaky and prone to failure (ceramic caps). I checked the bias voltages and ps ripple and added extra caps across the ps can caps and got the ripple voltage very low. I also replaced the volume control which tracked poorly and was noisy. Then I spent time listening. I know there are more upgrades that I could do but I really didn't have a reason too! Enjoy the music! Ron
  3. Hi Folks! I have had requests to see the work under the chassis of my Scott 233 on Ebay. Here is a photo of it. I have more pictures if anyone is interested. Here is the Ebay link. Thanks. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3068598996
  4. Craig, I'm selling the amp because I parted with the LaScalas (due to space constraints) and the 233 doesn't have the drive necessary for my Nautilus 805's. The work I did to the amp was done neatly and I planned on keeping it. If I get a chance I will take a picture of the chassis tomorrow. Regards.
  5. Hi Folks. As a former LaSacla owner, I just want to let everyone know that I posted a nicely restored Scott 233 amp on Ebay. You are the group that lead me to this and I really appreciate it! It gave me lots of enjoyment. The LaScalas were sold to fit the new livingroom and the 233 was a match made in heaven for it. The new speakers (Nautilus 805's) while very detailed require more drive power than the LaScalas. I have restored this amp myself and am open to questions. the link is : http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3068598996 Please check it out and email me with questions. Ron
