I REALLY want to thank all you guys for all the good info,finally I feel that with this info I can get my subs set right!!Im in the middle of installing my hometheater,it's alot of work,but will be worth it when it's finished,I'll let you guys know how it all worked out as soon as it is done. I have two Paradigm PS1200 subs(I know you guys don't like them)but for the longest time I've woundered how to properly set them up!!Now I don't understand any of the subwoofer lingo AT ALL,like down to 25HZ or low pass filters or any of that other stuff!!So is there any way a guy like myself(namely me)can ever hope to get the damn things set up right?I've just ordered a Paradigm X-30 controle box I don't know if that will make it easier or just complicate matters worse,Also the speakers Im using are KSF 10.5's front right&left,C-5 center,S-5 rear surounds and SB-3's back surounds.Is there a rule of thumb or some kind of standerd setting for the subs or at least a starting point at which to begin?I told you guys this is a dumb question,but it's very confusing to me,any info will be GREATLY appriciated. Thanks G-Money,and Fabulousfranky for the advice,the only problem is I"bought before I thought"I already bought the pair of SB-3's!!My reasoning was that it would be ok because they were synergy series as are my other speakers,now I feel pretty dumb!!What exactally is timbre matching,and how do you determine if speakers are timbre matched to each other? Tonite Im gonna take my system apart,clean everything up and tomorrow I'll hook everything up,I'll let you know how it sounds. Hello everyone my name is Paul and this is my first post on this forum.I've been reading this forum for the past two weeks and have got a lot of very good info from it.Im in the process of up-grading my home theater from 5.1 to 7.1,and so far I feel I have made the right choice of equipment,however Im not sure if my new back surounds will match my existing speakers!!?In my 5.1 system I had a Sony TA E9000ES processor powered by a Sunfire Cinema Grand amp.My Speakers are KSF 10.5-front R&L,C-5-center,and S-5 surounds.My new additions are an Adcom 860 7.1 processor,an Adcom 555 two 2 channel amp(200 watts per channel)to power my back surounds which are a set of SB-3's.My question is how well will the SB3's work with my existing speakers?Any info will be GREATLY appriciated.
