  1. Budget wise, i plan on slowly building the HT up and not doing it on one shot. Right now, i'm looking for a receiver but i'm getting confused on how to use those 4 prewired locations. I'd say i'm willing to spend maybe $2-3000 for the receiver, all the speakers and subwoofer. I will probably be using it 90% of the time watching DVD's and 10% listening to music.
  2. This is my first time setting up a HT so bare with me. I just bought a home and in the Great Room (16' x 16') there are already pre-wiring in the ceiling at the four corners of the room. My question is what kind of speakers can i put in there and how do I hook them up into the receiver assuming I will also want two Mains, Center speaker and Sub? Will this be considered a 7.1 setup? What kind of receiver do you recommend if i'm going this route? If you were in my situation, how would you set up your HT assuming you will be using the pre-wiring in the ceiling? Thanks.
  3. Yeah, i was looking at the Klipsch Architechtural section and the two that stood our were the RCR3 and RCR5. Has anyone have any experience using these? Will four of these get the job done or what else is recommended to compliment this system? As far as receivers go, i'm fairly new to this so i'm not sure what's good or not. I was leaning towards Sony because my brother works there and can get discounts, any Sony recommendations? If not, any brand will do probably between $500-800. Thanks
  4. Hello to everyone, i've been reading posts trying to get ideas for my future Home Theater system but couldn't so i figured i'd sign up and start asking questions...anyways, i just recently purchased a home which has pre-wiring in the ceiling for surround sound, not really sure if that's a good thing or bad thing but what are good surround sound speakers to place in the ceiling and a possible receiver to match the speakers? I will primarily be using it to watch movies/DVD's. The room is approximately 15" x 20". TIA
