  1. I've got a Cary AE 3 that is only 4 months old I'm willing to let go for 400. Original box and manual included. It's a factory wired model that retails for 600. Sound is excellent. Reason I bought it is I just wanted to see if I like the sound of tubes in my system. All I can say is Wow, what was I waiting for. Blown away is an accurate term here. This thing sounds much better than the class a Krell pre I was using. The only reasons I'm selling is I need home theater bypass and a remote and have an Audio Research LS 16 that will be here Tuesday. I thought I'd post this here as Tbabb was the one who helped me out the most. (thanks again) I bought this from John Rutan at the Audio Connection if you want to know it's history at all. Also after lurking here I know there's alot of people here who know how good this preamp is.
  2. Trying to figure out how to integrate a Cary AE 3 into my home theater setup. Would it be best to use the amp outs of my Krell HTS into the Cary and output the Cary to my main amp. Or is it ok to connect both preamps to the one amp, I have two inputs, one is inverted. The last is somewhat unnerving as I don't know what happen if they both sent a signal to the amp at the same time. Going from one preamp to the next is really not ideal but I'd have control by remote and it should be safe. Lastly I could use the two spare channels of my 5 channel amp and just swap speaker cables when I watched a movie and connect the home theater preamp to it. This also seems like it could lead to a potential hazard if my speakers received signals from both amps but is quite unlikely as both speaker cables would have to be hooked up at the same time. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks
