  1. Thanks for the replies everyone, Here's a link to the Swans: http://www.swanspeaker.com/mul/htm/m200.htm I think I'm going to give it a try. For around $400ish I can have a jammin' 2.1 setup. I'm only interested in music and the setup will be through a G4(soon to be G5). My main goal is a pair of Legacy Studios and a separate 2 channel amp but that will cost a lot more($1500+) and I can't spend that much now(wife will kill me). This Swan/SWS setup may sound very good for a lot less. I know the Swans sound good and if the SWS isn't worth it or I can't match it, I'll just sell it or use it in another room. Thanks again. Scott
  2. Has anyone tried this combo? Will one SWS augment the bass sufficiently or will I need two to make a worthwhile impact? Thanks for any input, Scott
  3. Thanks Justin, I appreciate the input. You saved me a lot of hassle. I read a lot of reviews on the SWS and it seemed like it was easy to integrate into an existing(non Klipsch) system. It doesn't sound like that is the case. Even if you have an existing multimedia system w/sub, it would need the appropriate connections. In other words, even if my Monsoon sub was working, most likely I couldn't augment the setup's bass with an additional SWS? On the GMX question, does that mean that the GMX setup would still have to have the GMX sub inline to have the setup function correctly because the GMX satellites need power? I'm trying to avoid extra subs(space) and any possible crossover problems/differences. Thanks again, Scott
  4. I have a pair of Monsoon MM1000's and recently lost the sub in a lightning strike(yes, I had a surge protector). I'm considering buying the SWS sub as a replacement/upgrade. I have some questions on the connections though and from looking at the Klipsch website, it's hard to see if my Monsoons will work. Can I input my Mac G4 into the sub normally(mini plug) and have an output to the Monsoon speakers from the sub? The Monsoon speakers have bare wire connectors and it looks as if there is a single output plug on the back of the SWS sub. Is there an adapter or cable that I need that will separate the sound into L/R? Can I input multiple sources? I want my Mac hooked into the sub and also my mini AV system? On my Monsoon sub there are two mini plug inputs and I just used one for the G4 and the other to the mini AV system via the headphone jack. This way I could still hear system alerts, game sounds, etc. while listening to the radio or CD/DVD. Can I do this with the Klipsch SWS? Also, can you get the SWS sub with the GMX satellites as a package(without the standard GMX sub)? I only want one sub and two satellites and would rather have the better 8" SWS sub if I buy a GMX setup. Thanks for any input, Scott
