  1. Just bored at work today and after reading the past postings about the success of diy subs from a cost/performance ratio i was wondering how the diy builders think the newer (and beautiful) acoustic visions denali might stack up against my little FSR18. I am sure the one that is always listening will have a good answer to this. Also, does anyone have any info on the adire audio daeva sub...going to their website appears to bring up a dead link and i am having alot of trouble contacting one of their CSA's. Thanks to all that help me get an answer to my question...
  2. Hi all, was in a small argument today about whether or not the older Yamaha Rx-V2095 the trimed down 45lb version of the fabulous DSP-A1 would be able to safely handle a set of the newer polk LSi tower's which present (according to polks website) a 4-Ohm nominal load. I have had the chance to both own and play with this reciever and i know that it has both a 4-Ohm switch on the back as well as yamaha's low impendence drive capability but i did not have the pleasure of testing it out with anything other than an all klipsch reference ensemble. Thus i turned to a source that can has much more experience than i... Any who can input on this please let me know if i am right or wrong or both, as it is a question that i am having alot of trouble findig an answer to since the 2095 is out of production. Thanks for the help to any and all that respond. -Eric
  3. Any ideas on good amps that would work with the B4 plus svs besides the crown unit? Just out of curiosity i ask this as i am pretty sure there are alot of good pro as well as audiophile amp makers that could potentially make this beast sing. -Eric
  4. EAR i could not agree more about the subtleness of the gain knob. Also i have to agree that much like you multiple subs are definately the way to go, as well as the fact that a dual B4 Plus setup would be sick...but i like sick...alot. So it seems that eventually that will be the way i head in the hopes that i will never again have to look for more subs (just like i thought after i bought my FSR)...oh well i guess people like us keep people like svs in business. And as long as i can help it, it will always be that way. -Eric
  5. Hmmm.... a quad tumult custom setup in one corner, or a dual cherry finished svs B4 Plus powered by a Crown K2. Not even sure the dual Velos or Aerials would show their heads against such illicit dreams... will have to save a little longer then go all out and never look back. By the way i want to thank you all for all of your input on my original question...i knew that it was not going to be any easy answer but the more i hear the more i think an eventual dual B4 or proposed tumult setup will be the eventual way for me to go. -Eric
  6. Hi all, I am in the process of deciding whether or not to upgrade my subwoofer as i am always on the lookout for another big box to take up floorspace...its getting to the point that i am almost not at home without more than one sub in my 14X16 listening room. Currently i have one of the earlier FSR-18 velodynes, and even though i have enjoyed it immnesely, the bug has bitten and now the search for another sub seems to have begun again. IF any have experience with the new B4-Plus or the aerial sw-12 i would love to hear an input that you can give comparing them to one another as well as how you think they would measure up to the velodyne? I am both a music lover and a home theater buff and am looking for another sub/subs that will be able to give me what my velodyne has and more as far as extension/slam/depth/ and integration is cocerned. Also has anyone tried a dual aerial or B4 setup and if so what were your experiences with it? Thanks to any and all that apply and if there are other subs out there that you think would do more justice to my needs then please feel free to elaborate on them as well. -Eric
