  1. From what I have found for example if I am watching a show that is a hdtv tv show but only broadcast the sound in a 2/0/0 format. or regular stereo in usual terms. The denon will display neo. When broadcast in 3/2/1 or better it will say dd ex(if back speaker is turned on?) or dts. I keep it in cinema mode for my tv vieiwing. I look at neo as a better version of prologic2. So in short I believe that is normal. If you notice for dvds usally the menu screen sound is neo but switched to dd or dts once you start the movie and it gets the correct signal

    Good Luck

  2. Well i do agree that it was surpising after a week how he turned around and would di for the girl, but I didnt harp on it for to long. I was very confused at first with the editing clips! Yes I also would have like to have more back ground on him too. But for a wife pick2.gif at the video store I was happy and thought it sounded great on my Ht

  3. Man I saw Man on Fire last night. Great movie and plently of bass, in fact the bass somehow screwed up the bulb in the sconce above the tv. They both are dimmed toghether, but some how it lights brighter I think the filament inside must of gotten moved. Anyway good movie, been busy so I usaully just read the post and see whats up, not too much time to posst

  4. Really I did was use a ultity knife and sort of carved a v into the sheetrock in the area I wanted to run the wire, just try not to go throught the other side. Lay the wire in there and secure ( small tacks or even glue) it so it doesnt pop out while the spackle is drying. Throw a couple of coats of spackel on it and sand it, if it needs more spackel do one more coat and they lightly sand it.

    Very easy

  5. HI

I believe they are rc- 3 II, not rc-7(dont have tht kind of dough yet!!) ...I bought those at home depot for about 12.00 dollars they matched perfect and came out just the right lenght for the speaker I think they came in 6, 8 and 10 in lenghts. I think those were 8's. The two brackets just support the speaker no shelve.. They were in the shelving department and were no more than simple shelf backets with a fancy plastic face.

    Good Luck

  6. Hi

You can score the sheetrock and create and nice channel, just try not to go to the other side and break it through. And stick the wire in the channel you created, secure in there with hot glue or some plumbers putty and throw a couple of coats of spackle on it. And sand it out smooth, then throw another coat on. And hit with the spackele again, and sand it lightly. Slap some paint on it. done I have done it here take a look!

  7. HI

Well ignore that ext sub level. That is for something else. I would suggest that you get a audio/video calibration disc..like digial video essentials or avia. Run the FULL bandwidth pinknoise and use a rat shack sound meter and set your tones to 75db and the sub at 80-85db. I Have a denon 2803 and a svs powered sub and there is no problem on bass. Are you having this problem with just music, movies, both? Most likely you are missing something, yes the Denon takes some time to figure out, but it is great. I called them once and they were a great help

    Good Luck!

  8. I went through some of those hundreds of post on the avs forum. Lots of info!

It seems that the 1080i option is the choice to go with. But I thought a progessive signal was better than a interlaced? I figured out to stop the disc first last night! Hey did you apply any one of those firmware patches or plan to?

    Thanks

  9. Funny I was just going to post about this player from my first dvd w/ it. I did not notice a difference in the picture quality, I ran the components cables to the hdtv. The pushed the up conversion button on the player. But nothing seemed to happen, no little symbol verify that it was upconveting or anything like that. I will look into the thread posted above, maybe I missed something, but as for now I am disappointed

    Thanks

  10. I was luckly enough to get this dvd player before it the upscaling feature was removed. I see it can do 480i/720p/1080i. Would the 720prog,give a nicer picture than the 1080interlaced?

    Thanks

  11. Yeah it always such a pain and hassle to get the tv out with the wires and all and everytime I take the tv out it damages the pine ent center. I keep meaning to get it out each friday w/ a friend but it never happens. And I am afraid it will be gone for to long. The only other tv is a little 19 in the bedroom! It will get there, but I want to make sure that I was being to picky!

    Thanks

  12. Now real quick here is the problem, I bought a Toshiba 36hf73 about 4 months ago for about 1600 bucks. The first one had a hour glass curve on the top left and bottom left corners(most easily seen during a widescreen dvd or when a straight line is displayed on the screen for example my tv guide function). The top left is the most noticable. I returned it w/ the dealer that hasseled me on it being returned. The second one did the same thing( I believe to be from the way the rolled the box!! I got a tech guy out, couldnt fix it from the service menus(although here had the manual for the prev year model, which was missing alot of the explanation for the newer menu adjustments). He said he could take it to the shop, but I was not prepared for that, cables, speakers. I didnt want to just tear it out real quick. Now I am thinking about bringing it in my self w/ some help. Now it is a heavy unit which barely fits in the center, and in the basement! Take a look at the pic is the curvature bad or is it me.

P.S I had the 32 inch model for the year before with such curve

  13. I just got done reformatting my comp, due to a nastly virus that ran havoc on the web and just about everything else. I run norton antivirus, but wondering what pop stopper adware stopper(spyware) are you using. Ihave adaware 6 but I still get some popups

    Thanks

  14. Well I am happy with my current one but I have nothing to weigh it against. My last dvd player was a sony, I bought in 2000 for 500 bucks I think it was there flagship model and it had a horrible lip-sync problem..it was fixed like three times

    Thanks for you thoughts
