Let me say that I have a Grotto in my main system. It does a remarkable job for such a small package. It is also a sealed sub and very attractive. Worth the $900 I paid? We shall see. I am expecting a SVS PB10-ISD to be delivered shorty and I will be able to compare the two. I have owned B&W, Polk, and Infinity, plus the JBL-250 you have.... and the Grotto has blown them all away. The SVS will probably be a different story.

Yes, but, BB is not going to send an ISF certified tech. Other than that I couldn't agree with you more Griff.

First off, having a service contract from Sears, CC, BB, etc. for a yearly cleaning, convergence does not constitute a calibration. When you get your set ISF calibrated it is a long and thorough process. Full geometry is done as well as all inputs are calibrated. Service menus are tweaked, grayscale is set, guns are focused, etc, etc. My 57s700 took nearly 6 hours to do by a real professional and the results were night and day. So is it worth it? IMO, yes. Would I let a so call "technician" from Sears, BB near my TV? You got to be kidding? LOL. Also, be prepared to spend $500 min for a full ISF calibration.

[DVD concert video recommendations?]

I have 3 in my collection that I think are as every bit as good as HFO. All were shot in Hi-Def and have fabulous sounding soundtracks. They are in no particular order.

1. Heart - Alive in Seattle

2. Pretenders - Loose in L.A

3. Godsmack - (Just recently released)

Hmmmm. I actually think my RC-35 sounds pretty good. Strong and clear, very powerful with movies or music. Am I in the minority here?

Recently picked up The Pretenders concert DVD. 5.1 DD AND 5.1 DTS tracks are some of the best I have heard.

I recently purchased a Hitachi 57s700. I am very happy with it so far. Great PQ on HDTV and DVD. Digital Cable just "OK" paid $2200 from CC. I stopped shopping at BB. They treat you like @#$%! IMO.
