  1. Does my intermittent hissing despite volume knob problem fall into this same category? My Ultras still rock hard but have this constant hissing that is annoying as hell. The volume of the hiss is the same regardless what volume I have the knob set to. On a side note: The complaints about this Elliott chap are so wild. It all sounds an awful lot like how I treated my customers 8 years ago when I had a serious drug problem. People would pay to have their computers fixed and they would sit in my shop floor for weeks while I got plowed on their dime. Eventually I would get it back to them fixed up but I was always late and definitely wouldn't get stay in contact if I ran out of dope and got sick. Only when someone paid for some work would I be able to get going again. I have since cleaned up my act and have been clean for 7 years but I did a number on my reputation back then. It took me quite a while to get my customers back and to earn their trust again. Anyway, I just thought to myself how uncanny the resemblance was to my situation back in the day.
  2. I have almost the exact same problem but my noise is like the same sound old televisions would make when there was snow on the screen. Its a constant "shhhhhh" sound. The sound isn't made through the headphones or to speakers plugged in through the headphone jack on the volume control module. Sometimes the noise will cut out completely as if there were no problem at all. When it first started the noise would only be there when you first turned the unit on then it would fade away and never come back on. Then it gradually started to happen all the time randomly cutting out with no good reason. If I leave it on for a long period of time it will settle on a somewhat quiet static like sound. The volume control does not affect the volume of the noise it's making. The volume of the noise is always the same regardless. What could be causing this and what can fix it?
  3. I am also having the same issue. The hissing started when I turned the unit on and then it would fade away. Now the hissing is intermittent to constant. The volume of the hissing is constant and does not change with the volume knob. I'm quite good with electronics but do not like having to check each and every single part as it is far too tedious and my patience is not what it used to be. If anyone happens to know what parts cause this I can replace them on my own. I would like to add that I have had this unit for 8 years now with no issue so they have served me well. There is nothing else available that compares and I just don't want to have to settle for less. I guess Klipsch just wasn't making enough sales on these units to continue producing them....I dunno.
