  1. I just got a big screen TV (Mitsubishi 55413) 55 inch. Also, recently got the entire Klipsch speakers line. 2 RF35 RC 35 RW 12 RS 35 I have a progressive scan DVD player, but have not yet purchased a receiver. I have been to several stores and it seem to be coming down to two recievers. A Yamaha RXV 1400 and a Denon 2803. Does anybody have the same speaker setup as I do with any of these recievers? Also, if you were in my shoes, what would you purchase? Thanks, Dave
  2. I was looking into the RXV 1400 receiver and I ran across your post. The salesman at a store really likes the Yamaha RXV 1400 and one of his selling points was the easy on screen menu to set up the best surround sound. If you use component hookup from the DVD to the receiver you will not be able to use the menu?? Please elaborate if you could. Thanks, Dave
  3. Do the outrigger feet have to be used with the RF35 speaker? If so, what size are they (width). I am having somebody build me a wall unit and I used the size specs for the speakers, but never realized that there were feet with those speakers. Thanks, Dave
  4. YMMV??? Sorry I don't know what this is. Thanks for the post. blockquote] ---------------- On 12/19/2003 3:11:45 PM dougdrake wrote: The RF-35's are magetically shielded so they SHOULDN'T affect the TV. However, YMMV. DD ---------------- YMMV???
  5. I am finally getting my basement completed, so I can now put together a home theater. Through much research I am going to go with Klipsch and an Integra 5.4 receiver. The speakers are RF35 (front l & r), RW12 (sub), RS35 (surround - backs) and RC35 center channel. I am getting a 51 inch tv and would like to put the front speakers to the left and right of the tv (only a few inches away). Will I have problems with the magnets in the speakers affecting the television. I don't have a lot of room and I really dont want to get a smaller tv. Somebody told me this could be a problem. Any help would be appreciate.
  6. Thank you for all the input. I am thinking about getting two RF35's for the fronts. I was told that those would be a perfect match for the center channel. Also, I was thinking about going up to the next subwoofer. I tried to save money because I like the Forte, but I don't want to have a system that does not sound too good. I hope the RF35's are nice, I did not have a chance to look into them much. Thanks again, Dave ---------------- On 12/12/2003 1:59:07 AM dougdrake wrote: Dave - What I mean about voice matching is that you ideally want 3 identical speakers across the front to present a near-seamless array of sound. As voices, sound effects, and music "moves" across the screen, you don't want it to sound different as it goes from left to center to right. That's why 3 identical speakers are ideal, because they will give you the closest to a perfect match. Center-style speakers should be voiced to match as closely as possible within a certain speaker family. The Academy was voiced to match the Forte/Chorus/Quartet family. Of course, this was a decade ago. So now the RC center speakers are voiced to match selected models in the current Reference family. You might just want to take home the RC speaker he is suggesting and see how it sounds mixed with the Forte's. It may work fine for you. ----------------
  7. Thank you for your response. Could you elaborate a bit about the voice match between the reference series and the Forte. Thanks you in advance. Dave ---------------- On 12/11/2003 3:56:05 PM dougdrake wrote: Well, I'm obliged to say that there are no currently manufactured Klipsch speakers that will be a perfect match for your Forte's. The IDEAL center is a Forte, followed probably by an Academy, then maybe a KV-3. Even a Heresy might be a good center. I don't believe you will like the lack of the voice match between the Reference series and the Forte for your center. The rears are less critical unless you are doing 5-channel music. The design of the RS-25 lets you mount them lots of places and get away with it. Everything audio is always just an attempt at the ideal - nothing will ever work out that way. Thus, putting them on your rear wall will work OK, especially if they are 8-10 feet back. I suspect that the RW-8 would get lost in the Forte's. Those things produce copious amounts of bass, as you know, and it may take something with more guts than an RW-8 to give you better bass. I'd suggest waiting on a sub, saving your money, and getting something that will take the bass deeper and louder than the Forte's with authority. ----------------
  8. I was wondering if I could get some input. My Klipsch dealer put this together for me and I wanted some other opinions. I currently have two Forte's that I am going to use as my front speakers (left & right). He suggested a RC35 center channel along with a RW8 subwoofer along with RS25 surrounds for the rear. How does this system sound to you??? (Also, that is all I can afford). I do have a placement problem with the rears. I have read that you should put them to the sides of where you are sitting about a foot back. Is that correct? If so, I cannot do that. I can put them against the back wall, but I do not know how this will sound. The back wall is another 8-10 feet. The dealer also said that I could use something like RB-15's for the rear and mount them but I don't know about using front speakers for the rear. Any suggestions or opionions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Dave
