  1. Go over to the AVS forum. There are several people getting the HLP-5674. Basically, according to the spec sheet, it's engine is HD2+ with a six segment color wheel with an updated color engine, which is suppose to compensate for not having a seven segment color wheel in the Kirk models (85 series). Several people have commented that along with better blacks, the image is sharper than the 63 series. I will probably be ordering one in the next couple of weeks. Thank goodness for return policies.

    B&W 703

They were written up in the October Stereophile AV Ultimate and got pretty solid review. ---------------- Not yet, I did talk to the dealer for 10-15 minutes. There where a few people in the store and he told me to bring back some music. Some of these specialty stores are just too funny. There I am a possible customer and they are reluctant to even let me listen to the speakers. I was talking to him about Rotel separates, B&W speakers, DLP, you would think that there would be a little incentive to try to sell me something. This is my first real HT, so I think that will go with Klipsch Fronts: RF-7s, Center: RC-7, Sub: RSW-15, Rears: RCR-5s (wife), AV Reciever: Rotel RSX-1067 or RSP-1068/RMB-1075, DVD Player: Denon 2910 or 3910, Rear projector: the New JVC or Samsung HLP-5674 (if they ever release them) The Klipsch dealer was very helpful and I think that will be a decent setup.

    B&W 703

Thanks for the responses. I'm going to quit agonizing over the decision and just buy the Klipsch setup.

    B&W 703

How do the 703s sound. I am waiting for the new Klipsch dealer to get a RF-7 setup. I know that the B&Ws will definetly cost more, but a local shop has them and I will take a listen this week. The B&Ws are definetly sweet looking speakers.
  5. I thought about using triad's or another enclosure system for the surrounds, but I was worried about timbre matching the speakers. I really want to go with Klipsch for the fronts/center/sub. It's probably too late for a enclosure installation...I think that the sheetrock will be up today. Oh, well...I guess that I will have to live with 2 RF-7s, RC-7, 3 RCR-5s, RSW-15. Now, reciever decisions.
  6. I was thinking of going with RF-7 fronts, rsw-15 sub, rc-7 center, rcr-5 in-ceiling surronds and rear center - a 6.1 setup. The room is 18 x 23 with a catherdral ceiling. With the room layout, the only good option is using in-ceiling speakers. How will the rcr-5 surrounds sound with this setup??? Thanks

    New setup?

I don't really want to go with in-ceiling speakers, but there's a opening where the right surround would be, so the room layout (and wife) kind of eliminates using anything but in-ceiling speakers. I have not heard the rcr-5 speakers....anyone have a opinion on them???

    New setup?

I was thinking of going with RF-7 fronts, rsw-15 sub, rc-7 center, rcr-5 in-ceiling surronds and rear center - a 6.1 setup. The room is 18 x 23 with a catherdral ceiling. I am thinking of checking out a similar B&W setup, maybe 703s with matching center and in-ceiling rears. How does the sound of B&W compare to Klipsch. Also, it seems like everyone favors Denon with the Klipsch setup. I was thinking of going with the Denon 3805....sound like a good choice? I probably will second guess myself either way I go. This will be my first real HT setup and there's just too many choices. Tony
  9. I am building a new house and I am planning on setting up a decent home theater system. The room is 17' x 23'. Do you guys have any component suggestions? We haven't really gotten far enough along to determine how much to budget for the new system, but I would appreciate some ideas. I know that I am going to go with floor standing speakers front and rears. I have been thinking about doing a center rear (6.1), but with the room arrangement I would have to go with some type of ceiling speaker. Thanks
