  1. I already posted my question about this, but i frased the subject wrong. Here is what i want to know: "I'm about to purchase hk430 for my 2-channel system. I don't have the speakers yet, so I just wanted to know if any of you have tried using 430 with newer speakers such as RF-3, RF-5, RF-35. I know that i need efficient speakers for that particular reciever. (Are RF-3s efficient??) P.S: How do RF-3s compare to Heresys in terms of sound quility? (not how loud that can get)" Thank You

  3. This is knight007. I see you got a great deal going there. I think I'll consider it (based on its' condition ofcourse; email me at knight007@nyc.rr.com and we can talk it over.
  4. I appreciate your help guys. I really considering keeping my reciever and look for a pair of Cornerwalls or Heresys. When i get more money (hopefully soon), I will buy a better reciever (or amp/preamp) and/or move up to HT. Thanks again, you've been a great help
  5. My dad just set up a new HT for the living room and gave me the old reciever and old speakers. The reciever is Harman Kardon AVR-20II. Do any of you know anything about it, it produced a nice sound even with our old crappy 75 watt peakers. I think it will be perfect for my sterio system. If it is good, i can use it and spend $800 just on the speakers. (what speakers should i be looking at---if i use this reciever) Im still thinking about Heresys (i herd I need a subby for them).
  6. Is this the H/K 430 you all are talking about: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3078521765&category=3279 or are you talking about the newer one, AVR430? I've been looing at some Heresys; most of them are old, from 70s and 80s in ok condition. How do they sound as compared to rf-3s or 5s. Thanks for the help guys!
  7. Unfortunatly ~$800 for both speakers and amplification. I am ony 17 years old, i can't afford a serious high-end audio system. Also, does it really matter how many watts per channel on a reciever. I see some expencive recievers with only 60-70/watts per channel while some cheaper ones have 100watts per channel. IM LOST! What is a good reciever for $300?
  8. Hi, I am a noob and i'd like to know what is needed for a good 2-channel system at ~$800. Do i need an amp/preamp or just a reciever? What speakers (i was thinking of RF-3IIs)? And what reciever pairs well with Klipsch Reference speakers. (Also, is a reciever needed if I buy amp and a preamp) PS: I already have CD/DVD players. Thank You
  9. Hi, What do I need for a good 2.1 (sterio) system. I have about $1000 to spend. 1. What speakers (I was thinking of RF-3IIs) 2. What reciever 3. Do I need an amp/preamp I am a noob and i don't know too much about sound systems. PLEASe give me your suggestions on setting up a nice sterio system. (NOTE: i'm planning to move up to HT once I get the money) Thanks
  10. Thank alot guys, Im going sterio for now and as soon as i get more money ill get rest for a nice HT system. Thanks again!
  11. Hi, Before I continue I'd like to remind you that I am only 17 and without a good paying job. I'm planning to buy a pair of RF-3IIs and a reciever. As i get a little more $$, I will buy center and rears. For now I'd like to know: 1. What it reciever goes well with these speakers (~$250 range) 2. What exactly is the difference between an amp and a preamp? And would either one improve the sound quility, bass, etc.? 3. Is there anything better than RF-3IIs within that price range? Thank You! (you are welcome to give me some ideas on what to get; i have ~800 to spend)
