  1. Wow. Wow. Wow. I am absolutely stunned by what is coming out of my new 35s. I am hearing one of my favorite jazz albums, Kind of Blue, like I have never heard it before. I didn't even know the sounds I'm hearing existed on the CD. Crisp clear sounds are coming at me from all directions. These speakers are nothing short of amazing. To explain, I paired the 35s to a new Dennon receiver, which are replacing an older Sony rack system. I didn't know what I was missing all these years. Now I know what this forum is all about. I am hooked. All praise be to Klipsch...I've found religion.
  2. Thanks Dr Who. I'll select the "large" setting in the receiver's set up menu and turn Dolby off, to maximize my two channels. Raju, unfortunately I can't answer your question, because I have not received my 35s yet. They should be arriving any day now.
  3. Thanks for the reply Strabo. The receiver has a setup menu option to turn off the output to the subwoofer, which I did. But in the same menu, it has the option to run the speakers in "small" or "large" mode. I've heard that "small" should generally be selected when using a subwoofer, regardless of the size of your speakers. However, since I don't have a subwoofer, is it best to select "large"?
  4. Two questions for the board (please forgive any ignorance on my part, this is all new to me): 1) I am purchasing RF-35s that, for now, will be driven by my low-end Denon 1604 receiver. For now, it will be a two-channel system (no subwoofer). Given this, should I configure the reciever to output in the "small" or "large" setting? I'll be using the system for both music and movies, but by no means am I an audiophile -- just looking to get the most out of the system. 2) Given this is a two channel setup, should I configure my Denon DVD/CD player with Dolby Digital on, DTS off and LPCM on (the manual says to turn it on when outputting in 48kHZ, but I don't know what that means). Many thanks in advance for your help.
  5. I am interested in matching an amplifier/receiver with either the rf-15 or rf-35 speakers. Here's the catch. My amplifier (Dennon 1604) is a bottom line model and only delivers 75 watts to each front speaker. I'm not interested in buying a new receiver which I'll explain later. Given that limitation, which speaker would work better with my amplifier/receiver? I like the rf-35, but I'm not sure that the relatively weak amplifier could adequately drive it. In this case, would the smaller rf-15 be a better choice? I'm not an audiophile and don't need the perfect system. I'll only use the two Klipsch front speakers in my system, which will be used for movies and music. Also, I don't need to have the ability to shake the house with a loud system. I'm simply looking for something relatively inexpensive that sounds decent by my uneducated standards. The only reason I favor the rf-35 over the rf-15 is its capability to deliver better lows (I don't intend to use a subwoofer with the system). All opinions appreciated.
