  1. i think your PCDP would be fine if you used a headphone amp. could get a used one off head-fi.org for really cheap.
  2. well, i've just double checked the cabling (not too hard since fronts and rears use different coloured cables) and the input on the soundcard anda everything is correct. it seems that even when the surround volume is at minimum, the rears sound just as loud as the fronts. any amount i turn it up increases rear volume. its annoying beucase i like the output of the sub at 4.1, but i'd like to hear music at 2.1, so it seems like the only thing i can do is unplug the sattelites when im not using them?
  3. only canon, its an s30, but i actually compressed the pics down to 1000x1000 to save on filesize. its amazing how much equipment that guy needed to do the same thing i did. all i had was sauder, saudering iron, wire and wire cutter/splitter and the connectors. the ohm meter is rediculous.
  4. it seems that even if i turn down surround volume to the min on the console that its still the same volume as the fronts ... but when i change the fade on my santa cruz, the bass messes doesn't sound as wholesome. any fixes?
  5. i made some up myself. i went to a local hifi shop, picked up 4 mono 1/8' plugs and 105 feet of cable (the monster cables still would have been way too short) for about $70 CDN i have 14 gauge cables with silver connectors. took about 10 minutes to do the first one, another 10 mins to do the rest.
  6. i remember reading somewhere that the 5.1 systems sub works by seperating one of the subs to the front channels and the other to the rear channels. appearenlty this "improved" low end accuracy. i was just wondering if this is also present in the 4.1's. if so, what happens if you only have a 2 channel output, will that mean only 1 sub is working? thanks
  7. alot of the 5.1+ soundcards have software to change what each jack outputs - you can set it for headphones, 2, 3 ,4, 5 channel. i got a turtle beach santa cruz (awsome for sound quality) and am thouroughly enjoying the results!
  8. i've got this strange buzzing/high pitch rattling/distortion sound coming from the control speaker. even at mild volunes (70% coming out from winamp, 1/3 on volume knob}, i can hear it, it only comes out on certain frequencies. i've noticed that its very noticeable on with several songs, the one i've first noticed it with is John Lennon's Jealous Guy right around the 1:05 - 1:15 mark. i can hear it from the other side of the room, its actually quite annoying... are really low volumes you can't hear it, but at about 1/3 of max on the volume knob and 70% from winamp. its not audible at 1/4. i've only just bought these 3 weeks ago. i don't hear the sound coming from any of the other speakers at the same time in the song (i actually moved the other speakers and plugged it into the same line to make sure) is this normal? should i be dealing with klipsch or my retailer for this? here is the song to see if you get the same... http://members.shaw.ca/twizzlingflagella/John Lennon - Jealous Guy.mp3 ahh, im also hearing it on Beatles - Come Together at the very beginning (time 0 - 5 seconds in) only on the control panel speaker again...
