  1. Thanks for everyone's feedback to my previous post. Based upon the recommendations that I received, it sounds like my 10 year old Klipsch SW-8 is just not capable of reaching very far down like a newer sub would be able to. I'm going to look into SVS, Klipsch, and perhaps some other brands that you all have mentioned. After reading a lot of the posts on here, it seems like there are a lot of SVS fans. By living in the Dallas / Ft. Worth area, I will be able to test just about any type sub I need to - it's too bad that I won't be able to do the same with SVS. Until I get a new sub I need to know how to properly set up my SW-8 subwoofer. I just bought new speakers and an Amp, so I want to make sure that my sub is set correctly to match them. I need to know how to properly set the "Low Pass Setting". My system is: Denon 3803 Amp Klipsch RB-5 Fronts Klipsch RC-25 Center Klipsch RS-3 Surrounds Someone told me that I don't even need to set the Low Pass setting on the SW-8, that the Denon does it automatically. Also, would it be much of a benifit to add either one or two rear speakers to my setup to complement the side surrounds? I know that my Denon amp has the capabilities to do so, but would it make much of a difference, and is there that much material out there that would utilize the extra speaker(s)? We currently use our system about 60% for HT and 40% for music. My wife is the music user and she listens to mostly SACDs and DVD audios - lots of jazz. Please let me know your recommendations and thanks again for your help.

    SW-8

I have a 10 year old SW-8 and was wondering if it might be time to upgrade to a larger sub. I have a Denon AVR-3803, Klipsch RB-5 II mains, RS-3 II surrounds, RC-25 center, and the SW-8 sub. I've upgraded all of my system over the past couple of years except for the sub, and some friends said it was time to move up, that this "dinosaur sub" was way too old. My system is used about 60% for HT and 40% for music. Looking forward to your feedback.
