  1. joeschmo789, if you haven't given up on your system, i still have the original control pod for my v.2-400, as i recently acquired a cp-1 upgrade. let me know.
  2. n.s.s. any possible ideas what might be the cause, or if there's a workaround? anyone out there with a similar issue? btw, i incorrectly listed my system as the promedia 4.1 - i have the older v.2-400 thx for your input jay
  3. ...uh, yes. it's been rma'd once already, and i was spared an enormous shipping by a friend who worked for fedex. ...the led on the control pod doesn't illuminate, and an even more obvious sign that it's not working - NO SOUND.
  4. -i was wondering if there's a quick way to drain the power from the caps in the amp. if there's a power outage, or i move the sub and it's unplugged, i need to wait about a week or two till its up and running again. is this normal? []
  5. ohhhh. will give it a try. i'll reply later with results. arigato.
  6. if you're talking bout the checkbox that says "ac-3 decode" in audio hq, under speaker settings, then i've tried that with no joy. but thanks for your reply.
  7. greetings to all, i was hoping someone could shed some light on my dilemma. i have been searching hi and low for a sound card that will decode ac-3 for my analog speaker setup, the v.2-400. i've been quite happy with them for the past few years. my desire is to use the card to process the signal coming from my home dvd player. first it was the soundblaster live, then live 5.1 digital, now the audigy (sb 0092). i did some research online, and felt confident, reading that the audigy series have onboard dac and therefore could decode ac-3 for analog output. much to my dismay, i played the nearest dvd i could find, and ended up trying to read lips...silence. i turned the "ac-3 decode" option on and off in the audio control panel for the audigy, messed with the speaker setup, even tried kx-projects drivers to no avail (all installations and uninstallations were done properly as far as i know). even cd's playback with no sound. however, when i run the audio tests and play cd's with my cd-rw drive, i get glorious music. i've looked into external dolby decoders like creative's ddts-100, but i wondered, is it neccessary? just to get sound from my external home dvd player? surely there must be a way. i would appreciate any help anyone can offer. thanks.
