Just go out and buy what you have liked previously. You will NOT find anything new under the sun, especially if you are sitting on a pair of Dynaco IIIs, and you already know what is good to youre ears. Just do it. ---------------- Dave, I would imagine that there are a lot of other people like me who like to try different things. That is why I posted this question in the first place, I guess this in not the place to ask according to you!

I have tried many other amps, recievers and integrateds with the Heresys but I still love the Yamaha and the features it has, particularly the loudness control. If you like the way your amps sound but the light is too bright, I'd find a way to position the receiver so the light wasn't shining in your eyes, wear a blind fold (or something), or remove the bulbs! I do agree that many others like the HK line but I have never heard one in my system. Let us know what you end up doing if you don't mind! ---------------- Thanks, I did have the HK 630 it sounded great but no power to it. When I had the CR-2040 140 WPC DIN the Herseys sounded great the bass you could feel. I just sold the 2040 today. I'm at a loss here for a I- amp to replace it, if I do go back with another receiver I would like to try a Marantz would any of them work? ideally I would like a 70WPC or more unit (yes I know that the Heresys can get by on next to nothing powerwise) but there rated at 100w and I would like somthing in that range to match it. Any ideas about the Sansui Au line? Somthing like the AU-1100?
  3. Well its my first post on this site and I would like some suggestions about matching a intergrated amp to my Heresy original speakers. I'm looking on spending $2- $300. (got somthing pass on the info) My past units that I have hooked up to them were the Yamaha CR-820, CR-2040, R-2000 and HK 620 receivers. All the Yamaha's sounded great but the HK was low on the power end. The only reason that I'm looking for a I-Amp is that the have the Herseys in my bedroom and the light for the receivers is too bright for me to get to sleep. Yes I know its strange but I like to listen to classical music at night..... Also in the event that a suitable I-AMP can not be figured out for my price range what about Marantz receivers? I figured that the blue lighting would be less distracting then the Yammies green ones. Plus the Marantz has a Midrange adjustment like the Yamaha's. I would like a midrange adjustment on what ever I get be receiver of I-AMP I have read elseware that the Marantz receivers are a poor match to the Herseys..... Well thanks for letting me bend your ear and any input would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!
