  1. boston acoustics or monsoon is where im looking at if my problem isnt solved before my promedia 4.1's warranty expires
  2. i think there was an article in maximum PC magazine that did this edit: Feburary 2001 to be precise they setup 12.4 using y splitters which rendered the testers def for a while
  3. check out my post here same problem http://forums.klipsch.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=52181&sessionID={955E8805-70CC-47A9-9F8A-C9FD2F13F9E9} i think ill go get another set of non-klipsch too
  4. what a pain... i got my klipsch promedia 4.1 back from Micron (tech support for klipsch in canada) they said they tested it for several hours yet could not hear the buzzing then told me to check sourcing i have even brought my promedia 4.1 to a friend's house yet it still hums the same humbug... all they did was to ship me another CP-1 after another email response from them i already switched 2 CP-1's! and its not the problem!
  5. hmm ive still got the warranty dont want to open it up just yet although im tempted and curious i still want to see what promedia tech support come up with now probably ship to Micron in eastern canada for repairs... then ill be audioless for sometimes! :'(
  6. source is my comp plugged into the socket thats on the same plate as the socket that 4.1 is using im not sure but ive already tried powering the 4.1 from another outlet and it did not help and it didnt help btw CP-1 is the control pod
  7. after all the trouble, the problem still has NOT been solved yet the buzzing continues even with the new CP-1 installed im a bit sad now... thinking of getting logitech...
  8. my apologies to klipsch Micron FEDEX'ed the CP-1 quietly btw i have no spam filter on the email i used to contact the tech support of klipsch and micron im having a lot of trouble removing the original CP-1 from the front right sat though ive followed the instructions, removed the metal stand but the pod just wont budge it is in there very tightly and im thinking of giving it some WD-40 to let it slide out easier
  9. thanx for all the replies ive switched the front and rear plugs (blue and green) already and the hum remained on the rear speakers... ive tried unplugging the cordless phone in my room, turning my cell phone off and non of those helped promedia tech support said to get a new control pod but since they dont deal with canadian customers, i have to deal with Micron in Ontario(Im on west coast, Micron is on East Coast) it has been about a week since i emailed Micron and I still havent received a reply yet. I dont think Micron is willing to do anything for me. I guess thats what happens when a company outsource its tech support in its neighbouring country.
  10. Hofy, you are the king!! lol what about mounting the sub on the bottom of the chair, duct taping the rear sats onto the chair where the ears are?
  11. Hi, i have moved the sub to my living room from my room before i dont think its the control pod, nor the power since im using straight 110v to 110v (no conversion) i will have to try to move the wires around to see if that is the problem. could you explain "ground-loop" for me please thanx
  12. i email PM tech support hope ill get an answer back soon ... i really dont want to ship my sub from vancouver to klipsch, its gonna rip a hole in my wallet! anyone got any other ideas? cool the amp down with a fan if heat is a problem? buy a $200 line conditioner? meh i have it plugged into an APC battery backup UPS already so i dont think its a problem with the power im so dissapointed in my klipsch ProMedia 4.1 now annoyed by it too
  13. i talked to an audio guy at a local store where i bought it from he said its probably not the power problem, he thinks is a simple case of a faulty amp but for sure ill try to bring it to a friend's house nearby and see if power IS the problem thanx and in the meanwhile other suggestions are welcome because im so annoyed by the buzzing thanx
  14. Hi, It didnt help when i changed the powersource. Could it really be the inpurity of the power? Thanx Evil Techie
