Thanks for the "assortment" of opinions. I think I found out what I needed (no to a Sony amp, maybe to the SACD, definitely to a digital camera ) The KHorns I found are 1980s with the AA crossover, so now I am learning and in search of tubes! Should be an adventure! Anybody got any thoughts on the Quicksilver Audio monoblocks? I may have stmbled across a deal on a pair..

I have a set of Klipschorns coming my way and am getting ready to "learn" hopefully with the help of some folks on these forums. I have a gift cert for the Sony store and would like to use it to begin to build. Any suggestions on a component to pick from Sony? In other words, if you were to get one thing from Sony to put into your system, what would it be? Thanks in advance!

How do I determine the age, etc, etc of a set of KHorns from the serial number? Is it possible? I am looking at a pair whose serial numbers are 17U206 and 17U207. They are labelled to be a type AA. Looks like I would spend around $2000 to obtain them, but don't know enough on the details to know if this is a deal or not. Cosmetically they look very good. Would appreciate the help!
