  1. Smilin...YGOM...(You Got Official Mail) I appreciate your help.
  2. OK guys... Now that I have my system somewhat figured out as to speaker connections...I'm know in process of buying an amp...I have researched NAD, Outlaw and B&K...I think I'm leaning towards the B&K amp. Where are competitive stores that I can get pricing? Thanks

  4. Ok guys here are my set up and what Im trying to to The Rear Surrounds=Cornwalls The Mains=Khorns The Centers=I pair of Heresys Sub=not purchased Audio= Mcintosh C39, MAC3, MR7082 6 channel and thx upgrades Amp=need to purchase. From your replies I need to connect the Heresys in either parallel or series if I want to use them both for a center speaker. I also want to connect a pair of outside deck speakers so I can either a) be playing music outside on the deck, be playing the HT system in the game room, or c) be playing just music in the game room. The question I was asking was if I got a 7 channel amp I could play both the inside and out side systemsIs my thinking correct? Am I on the right track? One of these days I will figure this stuff out and when I do it's going to be a winner!! Thanks for your patience guys
  5. OK guys...I will be conecting a pair Heresy speakers together as the front speakers in my HT...Not sure which way I will make the connection yet? It will be either parallel or series... Now for the question...If the other speakers are running off channels rated at 100 watta...Should I youe a 200 watt mono block so they will be equally matched...Other words I want to make sure the volun is balanced? If this question doesn't make sense I try to restate this.. Rememer...I know enough aboutHT to be dangerous!! Thanks Again...
  6. Gotcha... Then to use my pair of Heresy speakers together as the front speaker in my HT I need to connect them in either parallel or series...Buying a 7 channel verses a 5 channel would not be advatages??? Well I thought I had a good idea? Oh well... Thanks for straightening me out..
  7. Here is what I want to do...I have a pair of Heresys that I want to use the center channel speaker. I was told I could either connect them in parallel or series ...If I purchased a 7 channel amp I thought I could use the 6th channel for the extra center speaker???
  8. Question... I will be using a pair of Heresy's for the Center speakers in my HT... If I get a 7 channel amp can I use two of the channels for the two center speakers instead of connecting them together in series or parallel? Just a thought?
  9. Question... If I get a 7 channel amp can I use two of the channels for the two center Heresy's speakers instead of conecting them together in series or parallel? Just a thought?
  10. OK Guys... What do you think about the NAD S250 5-channel amplifier for $999... I'm leaning towards B&K...Outlaw...and NAD... Does the 125x5 have plenty of room to spare for my system? Seems to be a good price... I await the experts???
  11. Lets see if I can post a reply without double posting... Guys you are great!!!!...Just think...Oct. 4th I had no inkling a purchasing Klipsch speakers...I was going to go to Best Buy or Circuit City and purchase one of their mid-range systems. Those systems are fine but they would not have met my needs. Now as of 10/15 I have or am process of purchasing a set of Khorns, Cornwalls, and Heresy's. WOW!!I am sure when I get this all put together I will be pleased. Insane Poster...The reason we are building a new house is because we are moving over to Zanesville Ohio to become their pastor...It's a small church of about 55 people but they have 15 plus kids in grade school through High School...It's about 155 miles from our house and we have been driving over there every week end for about a year and a half...Can we "Tired"? This is where the Youth Ministry is coming in...I plan like you to have a "Movie" nite at our home and I want this be a "Moving" experience which I'm sure the kids will like. This will happen If I get a good sub with a good amp. This brings me up to this question...What size of sub (10"/12"/15") is the best bang for the buck if all else is equal? My HT area will be about 24' X 40'...Price I want to stay ...About $750 The amp I want to spend about $1500...It seems my money is disapperring? Size of amp? I would assume 5 channel? Would purchasing a used quality amp be a good move? Or I can add $$$ to the sub and take $$$ away from the amp. I don't want to spend more then $2500 total. As you have read my threads you know I do not mind purchasing good used equipment... Thanks Again guys...You're help is appreciated if not costly. HeHeHe I now know how to diagnose "Klipschyidis"... When one turns "BLUE" because they are loosing their "GREEN"
  12. Yes and No... I am in process of building a house and I want to get the HT done by Christmas...I have done a lot of Web surfing and I by chance ran across this Web sight. How? I was looking at buying a complete set of HT speakers and I was leaning towards Mirage...but...After reading all the acculades about the "GREAT and CLASSIC" Klipsch speakers I decided to investigate what all the "thumbs Up" was all about. One common thread I read was this...The older Klipsch speakers are in a class by themselves where time has been kind to these speakers. Then I thought...which I know is dangerous...why buy new when one can spend the same money and get "GREAT" vintage speakers. As you know the rest is history. I am now in process of purchasing a set of Cornwalls and Khorns...The Heresy speakers I have already purchased. Per this thread you can see I have also purchased some AV Mcintosh equipment for a super price. This being said I still need to purchase the amp and sub which I am doing a lot of reading and absorbing of all your comments. If all goes well my HT will be in place by Christmas. Isn't it really neat when evreything just falls in place. I also really appreciate all your suggestions. Next Question...What is a good 101 book about HT and stereo education? Thanks Again

  14. OK Guys Here is the latest update.. I am getting a great deal on the following...All are in Mint condition... Mcintosh C39 Mcintosh MAC3 Mcintosh MR7082 6 channel and thx upgrades... I think this set is about 10 years old... I did not explain but the main reason for the HT is for the Youth Ministry...I am setting up my basement so they have a place to listen to great music or watch movies with great sound affects. So I now have the Large screen TV...Speakers...Tuner...etc. Whats Lefts??? I now need an amp... A DVD player... Sub...Which ones do you recommend??? More input Guys...More input... Klipschyidis is taking me over!!!!!!!No cure...No Cure...
  15. Thanks for your feed back...It is giving me some directions to investigate. I am looking at the Yamaha AV 2400 and Outlaw 950/7100. I will also look at B&K,Rotel, and NAD lines. One thing I never realized is recievers have tone characteristics and I want to stay away from bright or harsh sounds that I might possibly get with the wrong match with my speakers. After spending the money on these fine speakers I want to get the best music and HT experience that is possible which is what these speakers deserve. Thangs Again
  16. If separates are the better route to go then I think I can go with Outlaw or NAD for the money I'm looking to spend. The Yamaha 2400 can be purchased for about $700 I never realized the Receivers/Amps had tone chacteristics. From what I am seeing on these boards I do not want something that will make my speakers harsh or bright. I guess mellow or blended is what I'm after. Am I on the right track?
  17. Thanks D-MAN... All input is important and with all the feedback I can begin to narrow my choices...I can then go to dealers and separate the wheat from the chaff sort of speaking. As I get feedback based on all the various experiences you all have had I will be able to weave a common thread which hopefully will lead me to making a decision. With these great speakers I want to match the electronics the best way possible so I can experience the best of both worlds....music and surround. Thanks Again
  18. Thanks Chris... I appreciate your feedback. I was planning on purchasing the AV equipment 1st and then purchase the speakers last but it seems I got everything reversed. Although I am glad I am getting the Khorn, Cornwalls, and Heresy speakers because those will always be top notch speakers and upgrading will not need to be in my future plans. I believe I have a great foundation to build a very good HT system. After a lot of reading it seems that Denon, Yamaha, and Outlaw are the top three in respect to quality/dollar value. If need be I could push the $3000 price barrier if it definitely made the difference. I want the ability of good quality music along with good surround sound capability. It seems systems can do one or the other well but cannot seam the music/surround together. I will have to do a lot of reading but it is with the knowledge and experience this board has provided that I will base a lot of my decisions. Thanks Again!! Long live Klipschyidis.
  19. As far as the AV I need to keep it between $1000-2000...I know thats a large range but I want to be a little flexable. The Sub about $750 Since I've invested my money in the Khorns, Cornswalls and the Heresy speakers...I need to be a lttle conservative in the AV and Sub side... Santa is getting low on cash. Why am I going to a new HT system? I am completing a new house so I told my wife she gets the upstairs and I get the basement...I thought that was fair. Oh yes...Where are the "Good" competitive dealers located? Again your input is appreciated... If I didn't take your advice serious I wouldn't have contracted the virus known as Klipschidys!!!
  20. Ok you EXPERTS!!!!! Now that you have talked me into the Cornwall and the Khorns I might as well go broke. My next two purchases will be a sub and an AV set up of some type... I have briefly looked at Denon, Outlaw, Yamaha, HK, and NAD... I have heard the Mac's are good but look a little pricy. I have read the various comments on the Recievers/Amps so forth but I am greedy and would like all reponses on one thread verses going back and forth....... I realize that Music and Movies are two differnt animals...I would like to be able to get good results from both venues... Can you list the top four A/V's.... How about which ones give you the best bang for the buck? Subs???? Same questions asked as above... Good competitive Dealers???? I travel throughout the midwest so I can travel...Mi, OH, Tn., Ky. In. Mo., etc How about used or reconditioned systems? I agree you get what you pay for but at times you pay for the names when a lesser name is really a better value... As before I appreciate you response and opinions.... Remember...You guys are the EXPERTS!!! Me...I know enough to be dangerous!!!!!
  21. Now you guys have really done it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am about to go ahead and purchase the Cornwalls also...I will use these as the surrounds and the Heresy's as the front speakers...I assume I can tie the two together. The Khorns will be the mains...Gee...where's the money for the sub? There is a bright side to all this...When you buy off an individual one doesn't have to pay Uncle Sam...HeHeHe There has got to be a fix for "KLIPSCHYIDS?"...I'M TURNING BLUE BECAUSE I'M LOOSING MY GREEN? What to do...What to do????

  23. SOLD!!!! I just made the committment for the Khorns. Stay tuned for the rest of the story which will follow... Next...Center Speaker??? I think I'm catching Klipschyidis...Is is fatal?
  24. Guys.. I really do appreciate your feedback. I'm sure these questions are asked over and over again but you all are taking time to personally respond to my quest of purchasing these speakers. I am about to pull the trigger on the Khorns (hey...I'm picking up the language)because they sound like they are the better bang for the buck plus they have a fuller sound. I like my music low to medium and the movies can be cranked up a little bit more...I guess I'm after quality of music and not quantity of how loud a speaker can blow. I can't afford to spring for both sets of speakers at this time so it looks as if I will go for the Khorns. As far as a center speaker I will be using a Rear Projection TV so I will need a center speaker that will set on the TV or that I can make a shelf and sit it above the TV. Thanks again guys!!! PS...Isn't it great when people help you spend your money? HeHeHe
