  1. Thanks for the heads up on Intel, but one of the reasons that I would like to work for Klipsch is that I need to stay in the central Indiana area while my fiance finishes school. The restricted location is making my job search all that much harder.
  2. Pyro, I posted this thread beacause the audio industry is my passion. I have already had a couple of offers from automotive companies (not that hard to come by when your parents live in SE Michigan), but I don't really enjoy cars (except the stereo!). Your post reminded me of some very good advice that I had received before about knowing the people you are going to be working with becuause it will make all the difference. Thanks for all of the great tips! Keep 'em coming.
  3. Is there any more information on when the Pilgrimage is going to be this year? I will be living within an hour of Indy and would love to go.
  4. Nice job, too bad he makes Bose speakers...just kidding! I don't know enough about Klipsch or Bose to tell what is better, but what I have learned from this forum is that to get a great sound, the speakers have to be bigger than those Bose cubes....something about physics or air....er...whatever
  5. Looks like I started a hot thread here. Anybody else out there work for audio companies besides Klipsch (components, electronics)?
  6. I know that this is the home audio forum, but I didn't know where else to post the question. I am a senior at Purdue University that will be graduating in May with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. I was wondering if any members in this forum could offer advice on landing interviews at Klipsch (I have tried the careers link on the web to no avail) or any other company in the audio field. I am only posting this becuase I have noticed that many members work for companies in the audio industry. Thank you for you help!
  7. Thanks for the tips, I had a hunch that something was going on inside of the subwoofer box with that system.
  8. I just purchased RF-35's, RC-35, RS-35's and RW-12 sub. I got the Yamaha HTR-5760 receiver which is 7.1 (I was only really looking for 5.1 but wanted the YPAO). I was wondering if two sats from the promedia 2.1 system would work for the rear surrounds. I know that they won't be timbre matched with the rest. I was also wondering if maybe they won't be loud enough compared to the rest of the speakers. Any comments??
  9. I'm going to give this a bump and ask another question. What is the difference between an averager receiver and a really good receiver? Is it power, digital to analog conversion, more types of encoding? I know that you would get a higher price going from 5.1 to 7.1 etc....any other comments?
  10. I just purchased the RF-35's. RC-35, RS-35's and RW-12 from a local dealer (20% off retail). I have a friend that works at BB and got the Yamaha HTR-5750 for $250 (sells for $400). Am I going to be extremely disappointed with this reciever, or is it going to do the job? I will be using optical audio cables into the reciever from the DVD and CD player. Thanks! FYI, I am posting this in the home theater area also.

  12. Probably the Yamaha, I have a friend who works at BB, and they sell the reciever there so he could probably get me a discount. I have $100 in gift cards for best buy also. So probably the Yamaha. What I really would like to know is it this model (Yamaha HTR-5750) is going to be enough to drive the system (RB-25/35 or RF-15). Any comments?
  13. Michael, Thank you for the abundance of information that you have just given me. It really makes it easier to make a decision when experienced people (not the ones trying to sell the product) help to pick it out. If I had to guess at a percentage, I'd guess 60/40% Movies/Music. I think that I have a great start here. I may splurge on some RF-35's and a RC-35, and then use some older speakers for surrounds until I can get the RS-35's. What do you think of this idea? Is RF-35 much better than the RB-35? Would I be able to go a while without a sub if I got the RF-35's instead of RB-35's? Thanks!
  14. Thanks for the advice, Scp53. I will probably look at the RB-35's and RC-35 and maybe go with the RS-25's. Any advice on the recievers that I mentioned in my earlier post? P.S. I am going out of town for a few days and will not be able to reply. Please keep the feedback coming though!
  15. I am about to drop $1500 on a home theater (speakers + receiver) and I would like some advice. Because money will not allow more, I am looking at the RF-15's or RB-25's to go with the RC-25 and RS-25's and a RW-8. I am considering RB-35's but I know that I would be getting into purchasing the RC-35 and RS-35 to go with it, and that is bringing it up to another price bracket. This will be a 5.1 surround system for movies AND music. I am also looking at about $400 for the receiver. I have looked at the Denon AVR-1705 or 1905 and the Yamaha HTR-5750. I would like to know if either of these receivers would be a good choice and mabye some more input on which speakers that I should choose from the ones given. I was going to buy a synergy system, but after reading the posts on this board it seems to be a given that the reference series is far superior, and I am willing to put up some extra dough for that quality. Thanks for any help!
