  1. perhaps my ear isn't quite as discerning as the next guy's, but despite the spectre of electrical noise, I have never heard it and therefore have loved my stereo setup paired with my computer and the trusty Winamp. I have a classic old Pioneer stereo from the 70's with a blue faceplate (which looks like a Marantz), and have used a pair of floorstanding speakers from Canada and then a pair of SB-3s. This has been wholly acceptable to me, and performed well enough by comparison to my set of JBL computer speakers with sub that I would not consider going back for a moment. If you're going with bookshelf speakers and want the bigger ones (a commendable option) but don't have room for their footprint on your desk, there's always the speaker stand option (which is pretty inexpensive): http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=013&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&viewitem=&item=230138283610&rd=1&rd=1 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=013&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&viewitem=&item=230138244028&rd=1&rd=1
  2. Hey Mike, The story on these is that they made the move with my wife and me to Virginia, and I haven't even taken the bubble wrap off of them since there is, by executive fiat [:'(], no place to put them. So they are already all packed up for shipping. I have them listed on Ebay, but the photo is obviously just the stock Klipsch pic. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=013&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&viewitem=&item=230138240362&rd=1&rd=1 Basically I believe you would find that they look like new. As they have mounts on their back wall, I mounted one from the ceiling, one from a vertical wall with its bottom edge propped against the wall. The one against the wall was mounted when the paint was apparently still a little tacky, since when we took it down it pulled little flecks of red paint (from the wall) along with it. My guess is that this would come right off, but I did not take the time to test this when I was packing up our stuff at the old house. Thanks for your interest.
  3. My beloved home theater setup is on the chopping block, due to space constraints in the new home. My loss = somebody else's gain. I am forced to part with the following: RC-25 Reference Series Center (black): $125 SB-1 Synergy Series Bookshelf (black, pair): $110 Sanus Speaker Stands (black, 24" MDF, pair): $30 Sanus Speaker Stands (black, 31" MDF, pair): $35 Omnifi Home Theater MP3 Player (with wireless and wired network adapters, remote, instructions): $40 All prices are OBO, and include ground shipping and insurance. All of these speakers and stands are in great shape, and have lived in a non-smoker's home. I offer these to the Klipsch Forum community before placing them on Ebay. Please email or reply to this post if interested in any of the above. Thanks!
  4. My wife and I have moved, and she is convinced there's no place in our new house for my beloved RC-25 (Reference line center channel speaker). I bought this speaker used -- in like new condition -- from another Klipsch forums user, so am now returning the favor by listing it here before putting it up for the general public on Ebay. I've never pushed it hard, and it remains in fantastic shape. I'd like $125 for it, and I'll cover ground shipping to you within the lower 48. Email or respond to this post. I'll try to check periodically today.
  5. I'm also a newbie and am looking into the same thing - if you're trying to do the budget-conscious approach (probably sacrilegious to suggest on a Klipsch forum) you might watch Overstock.com - from time to time they have cheap speaker stands available. Right now they have some by "Chicago Audio Group" - whoever that is: http://www.overstock.com/cgi-bin/d2.cgi?PAGE=PROFRAME&PROD_ID=1400578 I bought a pair of Sanus stands from Overstock about a year ago for a pair of SB-3's...do the job fine and not unpleasant to the eye when paired with black bookshelf speakers. I too would be interested to know what people have had success with. The metal technology stands suggestion look good, but $100 is pretty steep for a pair of speaker stands in my opinion. However, it's likely that we get what we pay for, and with the Overstock stuff in particular it's possible that they're simply not built for speakers of the SB-2 size.
  6. mobgre, thanks a bunch for making these available - the speakers sound great and are in mint condition. I'm extrememly pleased.
