  1. The Pioneer 1014TX looks like a really good deal. Looking at the specs, It says "speaker size - yes" I guess it must set the subwoofer automatically to THX specification. Has anyone ever bench tested this unit? It is claimed to do: 110 W x 7 (20HZ - 20kHZ @ 8 ohm, 0.09% THD) 110 W x 2 (20HZ - 20kHZ @ 8 ohm, 0.09% THD) The plan is to get the crown amp later, but I'd like some decent power to begin with anyway. I'm buying my HT system piece by piece, or a few pieces at a time and it may be some time before I buy the Crown amps. I was considering the Denon AVR 3805.
  2. Going with the Denon 3805 for now and checking out an outboard amp later sounds like a good plan. I would have more power to give to the RF-7's and spend less doing it. I may be totally happy with the Denon by itself. I plan to buy this HT system a few pieces at a time anyway. Thanks for the help. This is a great forum.
  3. The HK 7300 can be had for under $1400. The Denon 3805 is over $700. So if the RF-7's don't really open up till 200 watts, then maybe it wouldn't benefit me so much spending the extra $600 for 38 more watts and still be way shy of the 200 watts. Both recievers are very nice otherwise from what I've read with the Denon being a little more user friendly.
  4. According to the lab test by Sound and Vision, the HK 7300 puts out 145 watts with 5 channels driven, while the Denon 3805 puts out 107 watts with 5 channels driven. I hear the RF-7 towers are power hungry and like the power. This makes me lean towards the HK 7300 and it's higher output, but it costs nearly twice as much as the Denon 3805. Do I really need the power of the HK 7300? It seems that at normal listening levels, I wouldn't be cranking out nearly the limit of the Denon 3805 anyway. So it's be: HK 7300 or Denon 3805 RF-7 mains RC-7 center RS-7 surrounds a sub, probably SVS
  5. My eyes were playing tricks. 98-99 dB sensitivity accross all three fronts would be perfect then. or at least very close.
  6. So we have: RF-5 150 watts 99dB Sensitivity RC-7 200 watts 98dB sensitivity RS-7 150 watts 98dB sensitivity SVS PB12-Plus and then the 125 watt AVR-3805 Denon reciever. Do these actually match up together? I thought that it would be best to try to match wattage and sestivity. Especially up front accross the 3 front speakers. I do like it, that the RC-7's have the same size 8" drivers as the RF-35's. How do you match wattage from the reciever to the speakers? Is it best to have the speakers able to handle a little more than the amp will put out? My guess is that the amp in question would work just fine. Edited: 96dB to 98dB for the RC-7
  7. I plan to get a HT system to go with my 61" DLP in a 16'x 23' living room (with cathedral ceiling) that opens up into the dining room followed by the kitchen. I started with looking at the RF-35 HT system minus the sub and going with something like the SVS PB12-Plus/2 or just the PB12-Plus. Basically: RF-35(2) RC-35 RS-35(2) PB12-Plus I'm also looking at the Denon AVR-3805. That be a 125 watt per channel amp and all the Klipsch speakers are rated to handle 125 watts. The RF-5 HT system: RF-5,RC-7,RS-7 which would cost about twice the RF-35 system (both systems minus sub). Is the difference that much that would justify spending twice the amount? When adding the cost of the sub and the amp then the total cost would be the RF-35 with sub and amp costing 3/4 the cost of the RF-5 with sub and amp.
  8. Thanks, The 3 TV stands I'm looking at are: http://www.standsandmounts.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=3580 http://www.standsandmounts.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=3579 http://www.standsandmounts.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=3713 I've got the HLP6163 Samsung DLP so I need a 60" or wider stand. The RC-35 is 23.5" wide, so if placed in the center of a 60" wide stand,it wouldn't leave enough room to put components on either side. The second shelf should be able to hold 3 components, sat. reciever, HT reciever, DVD/CD player. The stands are expensive enough. I'll have to take time to think it over.
  9. Hello, A newbie here. I am interested in getting the RF-35 Home Theater system but the dimensions of the center channel won't fit the TV stand that I recently bought. There is an 18" wide center shelf that the RC-10 would fit nicely into. The RC-10 is only 75 watt whereas the reat of the RF-35 system is 125 watt. If not, are there any other centers that will work?
