  1. Try and download the live version of "brothers in arms" I believe it was performed at a function that has something to do with Nelson Mandela but anyway, the lead guitar in their live version is absolutely stunning!
  2. Thanks a bunch! I've already got my friends looking for me, anything that comes their way comes to me. I'm already looking on every buy and sell place, classifieds, etc etc. Hopefully I'll land me an awesome pair of klipsch... and that would officially start the never-ending need for "better" audio equipment! To all my future paychecks: a part of you is eventually gonna sound so good to my ears!
  3. Thanks a bunch for all the replies, I'll take a look into all those speakers mentioned. I'm fine with a used pair as long as they're in good shape and function properly. As for the receiver, my friend's dad is willing to consider selling me his vintage Sansui I'm not sure about which model it is as of yet but I'll know soon. If that doesn't work out for me, I'll keep and eye on ebay for those HKs you had mentioned. Why is that tube amps are so much more valuable? I've been reading this forum for a week or so now and everybody seems to hold the tube amps in high appreciation. Was wondering why they were technically superior. I'm still learning all the technical stuff about speakers and receivers, its a hobby I'm just getting started with... looks like I've got countless days of saving money up ahead, theres always something one can update. Thanks guys.
  4. I was in an audio/video store the other day looking for a set of bookshelfs to get started on a basic 2-channel system and then move up the ladder. The salesman played me a pair of Infinity, JBL and Energy. Nothing that blew me away but the Energy systems pair were fairly good sounding. Later that day I was visiting a friend of mine after a longtime, in the basement we decided to watch a movie. When he started the movie the sound was HUGE, it was very clear and had tremendous bass. I asked what speakers they were and his dad said they were Klipsch La Scalas. So since then I've been very hooked onto Klipsch hearing them wherever i can and now I want to start off with a basic system. Im a student and live in a house with 4 other guys and my room is relatively small.. so I'm just looking for bookshelf speakers but I don't know which pair to hunt down. Any advice would be appreciated.
