  1. Alright....anyone can feel free to flame me or whatnot but I got these things out of the box and I know they are double posted for possible biamping. If I don't want to do this, does it matter what posts I hook them up to....as long as the interwires are connected?? Just didn't want to damage my new speakers. The instruction booklet does not mention anything about this. Thanks!! Chad
  2. Yep, live in Omaha NE. These deals are taking place this weekend at the Nebraska Furniture Mart Birkshire days. Just a once a year deal!!! Just got them today!! Man they are big!! Haven't had a chance to hook 'em up yet. Can't wait. Chad
  3. Hi everyone!! I wanted to post some prices that I have available to me to see if these are competitive with what other people have seen. These seem very good and I didn't post them to say "look what I got that you can't"....etc. I just wanted any thoughts on whether I should go though with the purchase as it is a significant amount for my budget, regardless of the discount. Thanks!! RF-7 $624 each RC-7 $454 RS-7 $255 each and I already have a subwoofer; this is without taxes. Also from an authorized dealer in my area so no shipping either!! Thanks again!! Chad
  4. Bobboy T, is this what you have for your 7's if so how do you like it, if not, what did you get and why?!?! Thanks!!
  5. Thanks everyone for their input!! If I put the receiver to the 80 or even 100hz cross over, will this keep these lower frequencies (which are the harder to drive) to the sub and keep them away from the receiver's amps?? Again this will be somewhat temporary as I would like to get an external amp in a year or two!! Also I saw a Marantz sr7400 for $650, how would this compare to the Denon/ HK. Thanks again everyone for the input!! Chad
  6. Thanks for the recs!! Anyone have an opinion about the Marantz SR7400?? I can get this for around the 650 dollar mark. Are these comparable to the others mentioned?? Thanks!!Chad
  7. Alright, I posted this a little earlier in the form of "Is the 1014/15 an ok receiver for the 7's. I have made my mind up on these speakers but would like to spend as little as possible on the receiver as I want to upgrade to separates in a few years. What receiver would be the best to power these speakers without have to worry about clipping. Are there any that push down to 2-3 ohms better than others? Looking at receivers in the <$700 price range!! (street price) Examples that I am thinkg of include: Onkyo Tx-sr702 Denon AVR-2805 Pioneer 1015 (possibly) H/K AVR 435 Others? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! I will be getting my speakers in a week or so and I want to order a receiver for the job!!! Thanks!! Chad PS: some have said all these would work and that it will not be a problem, but then others say that I need extra juice. Any calrification on this would also be welcomed!!
  8. Actually, that is about right. Anywhere from 20-25% is about right!! See if you can get a little more off!!!
  9. Yeah, that is what I would VERY much like to do....stay with the R-7 package!! The receivers that are being mentioned still all seem to be about the same powerwise. I realize that some may have features others don't but for me, I am relatively new and basically want to sit and experience...so to speak!!! Room calibration was pretty important so the 1015 has that (and so do the others). From a pure amplifer/watts standpoint, is there any advantage to step up to the 2805/3805 etc?!?! Thanks again everyone for the imput!! Chad
  10. Thanks both for the replies. I will look into these options. Bottom line is I just want to make sure I don't hurt the speakers!! Keep the thoughts coming!! Chad
  11. Hi everyone!! I am in the process of buying my HT equipment but had some questions that I was hoping the knowledge people here could answer for me!! I have a $6000 budget for a complete HT system. I can get some pretty decent discounts for the Klipsch system so I think I am going to go for the RF-7's, RC-7, RS-7's and an LFM-1 sub. I think I will match this with a Pioneer 1015/1014. I know this may seem a little "low-end" for the speakers but here is my logic. 1. Get the best speakers you can afford because this technology has not changed much and I am planning on having these for a decade or more. So by the best speakers possible and updgrade the rest later. 2. This receiver seems feature packed with THX etc for 450 or less. So save the money you would be spending on an $800 receiver and put this toward the RF-7's instead of 35's etc. Also this technology is accelerating (at least more than speakers), then add an external amp/separates at a later date. Bottom line: Will this receiver have any problems powering these speakers for a couple of years while I save for separates?!?! I have heard the impedence (dynamics) on the RF-7's can go down to 2 ohms at times. (I hope I said that right, I am a somewhat newbie!!) I don't want to damage these babies by running them with a "cheap" receiver. I can also go with the RF-5's if this is an issue with the 7's and not the 5's. Any input would be much appreciated!! PS. HT/music is about 75/25. Sometimes at higher levels. By the way, the rest of the eqipment includes: Toshiba MT-700 Blue Jeans cables
  12. Hi everyone, first post!! Anyways, wanted to get an opinion on subs. I have a 12X16 foot room, 9 foot ceilings, listen to 80/20 HT vs music. I really want a sub that I can FEEL!! Anyways, I have heard VERY good things about the LFM-1 and I can get one for 525 shipped. Now, I can also get the RSW-12 for about 850 total. Is the RSW THAT much better. Several people I have talked to have said that the LFM-1 would hang with or beat the RSW in a head to head cometition. I was hoping someone would be able to shed some light on these two subs!! Thanks all for your time!! Chad
