I found the replacement cable end for my Promedia 5.1. According to this diagram where is my "black wire." I have all of the other colors but I do not have a black wire. Three wires are wrapped in a tin-foil material. One of them being a bare no plastic wire. The "yellow" and "black/yellow" wires are along with the bare wire inside of tin tin-foil wrap. Outside of this tin-foil three wire wrap are the other colors plus anther bare wire. Am I suppose to solder one of these bare wires to the shield? And the other being the "black" wire (even though it is not colored black?) Some guidance would be nice. Thanks. [H]

Why not just tell me where you get the plug? I won't buy from you. I could buy a new control pod for that much.

For crying out loud. Where in the world do I buy one? Someone has to sell them - guy a ebay puts new plugs on the ends and repairs them for 50 bucks each. I asked him where he gets his - i doubt Ill get an answer. He also has "right angle" din plugs so they dont break again. Whereeeee do I buy the din plug!

No luck on finding anything on ebay for CP1 replacement or anything. Think ill try to repair it. Is it possible just to re-join the connections on the Din plug? If so - Any walkthroughs? Im going to stay away from Klipsch audio for now on. They sound awesome (when they work.) My fathers creative 5.1 system never has had a problem and he has had them for 2 years. My bros 4.1 logitech - never a problem. Hes had it for a year. They beat the living crap out of them for several hours a day. And I hardly use mine for about 2 hours a week (never reaching beyond 60% volume and the sub dial doesnt go past the white dot.) I love klipsch speakers... but common, I shouldnt have to repair it every 6 months.
