  1. Thank you but I was only thinking about painting the back panels black. They are still raw birch.
  2. It is a bit hot and lots of smoke from large fire west of town. Other than that......
  3. These are the only pictures I could get to load. This shows a Boston Acoustics VR-M 90 being dwarfed by the Cornwall.
  4. I have a beautiful pair of Cornwall II’s I am sadly parting with. They are an early birch raw pair I got from the original owner. He applied a walnut finish that I spruced up with Howard’s. He took immaculate care of them. I can’t find any flaws in veneer other than they needed some oil. He didn’t put finish on the back side. I was going to paint it black but never got around to it. Oh, both tags are missing but they look like a matching pair to me. The grills are also excellent. Sonically they work perfectly and sound awesome! They are for local pickup in Redding California. I have them on the local CL for $1K. I will take $800 to forum members which is firm. I don’t think you will find a nicer pair.
  5. The Marantz 1060 is no longer available. I have come to my senses and decided to keep it. Thanks to everyone who posted and expressed interest.
  6. I just want to reaffirm that I will NOT ship the Marantz. If I don’t sell it locally, I will keep it. FYI, I will be in Southern Oregon early next week and plan to go to the Sacramento and the San Francisco area in the near future. Thanks
  7. Sounds good Steve. I have another member who is interested. We are going to talk tomorrow and I will let you know what happens. Thanks
  8. Hello Steve, Glad to hear the Music Hall is still serving you well. I got a couple of quotes for packing, shipping and insurance for another member. To the mid-west it was between $75 to $100 which I think is a bit ridiculous. Also, I would hate for this beautiful amp to get damaged. Short of using a nuclear containment vault, they can damage just about anything.
  9. Picture of the filter and Gold Nichicon output caps with new brackets.
  10. Thank you jimjimbo, I appreciate your post.
  11. Kind of figured out the picture gig. Another pic of the faceplate.
  12. I have a beautiful and completely re-capped/restored Marantz 1060. This is an early model, four digit serial number, with engraved champagne face plate and extra internal bracing. It has a custom made and flawless walnut case made by Cartwright’s Cabinets in SO Michigan. All electrolytic capacitors were replaced with quality Nichicon, Wima and Elna caps depending on location and function. Various troublesome transistors and resistors were replaced. New thermal compound applied to the output transistors. All functions and internal components were cleaned and lubed. I have all the old parts that will be included. It works without any issues and sounds awesome. The only cosmetic issue is someone, not me, tried to shove a polarized plug into one of the auxiliary outlets. The top is a bit cracked. I don’t have the original pre/main jumpers but installed AudioQuest jumpers. I hate to part with it but I have too much gear and other priorities. Sorry, I am road kill on the modern devices. I haven’t quite figured out how to reduce the size of the pictures. I can send additional pictures to interested members. I’m asking $550 for it but will consider reasonable offers. This is for local pickup in Redding, CA. I am willing to travel a bit for the right deal. Any questions, please feel free to ask. Thank you!
  13. This receiver is no longer available.
  14. Thanks for the information, I appreciate it! I will try to figure it out or, wait until my 12 year old granddaughter comes over.
  15. Sorry, I guess my iPhone pictures are too large to post and I’m sure how or if I can reduce them.
  16. I have a very recently restored Sansui 881 receiver, circa 1974, for sale. It was Sansui’s TOTL receiver prior to the 9090, 8080.........Last month I had it restored by a very competent technician. He has restored two other amps for me that both work perfect. All electrolytic capacitors were replaced with quality components. He replaced all the output transistors due to the failure of one original. Trim pots, suspect resistors and diodes were replaced and all controls got the Deoxit/Faderlube treatment. The phono section sounds great, tuner is well aligned and it has two Aux inputs which is a nice feature. It sounds great and works flawlessly!Cosmetically it’s very nice. A little bit of the veneer is lifting and a couple of blemishes on the bottom edge of the cabinet. The face plate, knobs and glass is nice and all the lamps work. I think he put LED’s in but not 100% sure. I will include the old parts. I would like $400 for it plus actual packing, shipping and insurance via FedEx ground. This one is truly plug and play! Thank You I will try to post a picture or two soon.
