Ed: If you were to use the C-7 Center as surrounds and rear center, would you mount them horizontally or vertically? Also, from your posts and email, you only modified that one KLF30 as a horizontal center and the other speakers in your Hometheater setup were not modified correct? Geez, now I've done it. This morning I was bidding on a pair of KLF30's on Ubid & the price didn't seem that high, so I figured I would be outbid since there were 7 hours left on that auction. Well it figures - I ended up being one of the high bidders and now I have a second pair of KFL30's on their way to me. Yikes. I haven't even received the first pair I got from Ubid. I would really like to do something like "HornEd" has done with turning a KLF30 into a center channel speaker. I emailed him a couple of days ago but haven't heard anything back from him yet. Hopefully, he will read this post and respond. It would be great to find out how to reconfigure a KLF30 or KLF20 into a center speaker! Also, I'm trying to figure out what to use for surrounds. I could get another pair of KLF30's or maybe use a couple of C-7's for surrounds and rear center. I really haven't read anywhere in these posts on which Klipsch surround speaker really matches well with the KLF30's. Thanks! Jasen

Hey gang: I was just wanting to hear from all of you who have the Klipsch KLF speakers and what centers, surrounds, components, etc. you're using for your home theater systems and what tweaks you can recommend for better sound performance. I just purchased the KLF30's and the C-7 center, but am not sure where to go from here (there are quite a few possibilities). Thanks!

Doug - thanks for the input! Well, I managed to bid on one C-7 center speaker and one pair of the KLF30s. (If I can get HornEd to tell me how to configure a KLF30 as a center, I might spring for another pair). Question: Why doesn't Ubid end their auctions at the time specified. Apparently the auction has ended but people are still bidding. That sucks! Also, it seems like every other day, there has been an auction for 6 KLF30's. Is Ubid just releasing these in certain numbers at a given time? This makes at least 3 times in the past few days that there's been 6 at a time. Jasen

Thanks Tripod and Uncle for your encouragement! You know I want the 30's LOL! I'm definitely going to jump in now and take the plunge. Now I just have to figure out what to get. I know that I want a pair of KLF30's for mains and would love to have a modified KLF30 like HornEd does for his center channel (Looks awesome - how hard is that to do?) I've heard the 30's before, but have never heard the C-7 center speaker. Is it a good match for the 30's and can it hold it's own? (more importantly, can you understand the dialogue?) Here's what I'm thinking (remember I have $3k to spend): Scenario #1 - 2 pair of 30's for mains and rears and 2 C-7's for front center and rear center. Scenario #2 - 1 pair of 30's for mains and 4 C-7's for center, rear surrounds, rear center. Scenario #3 - 3 pair of 30's - configured like HornEd's system - using one of the 30's modified for center channel use (probably overkill, but I really like the idea of having the front left, center and right speakers being identical). Let me know what you guys think. I'm open to suggestions. Jasen

Twice now, I've been so close to bidding on KLF30's on Ubid but backed away at the last minute. I've budgeted about $4-5k towards speakers and I could easily get 3 pairs of these and call it a day. However, I keep hesitating. I've heard these speakers and one of the things I like best about them is the fact that they are dynamic and can easily be run from a decent DD/DTS receiver. On the other hand, they are big, bulky and since my living quarters are kind of small, there's really no room for them at the moment. BUT, then I know that once I get into a larger place, I will be crying that I didn't get the KLF30's. What to do? Yikes

JTS8: I was just curious about your comment stating that you were happy with your KLF30's but that you probably would have liked the Heritage line better? Can you elaborate more? Thanks. Jasen

I was just curious if anyone has had a chance to compare the KLF series speakers with the new Reference line. Also, how do the KLF30's compare to the RF7's for music and home theater? Thanks.

I'm wanting to purchase a pair of KLF30's, but I'm not having any luck locating a pair. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
