  1. What I think about SVS[:'(][:(] ,Cheap DIY subs, tubes made from plastic.friend had an ultra to and then sent it back,And I said to my self,?Wheres the base in this F..kin thing after setting it up for him.half the adjustments never worked or were for show on the back of the plate amp,And this isnt the first one I have seen like this,And this is a ultra top model.Sub pushers on the net.take a Trinty for a ride SVS

Ah, a nicely cast line into the flame lake. And a very well informed poster I might add. Actually, Paul, I had a friend who bought a Trinity sub and it was so weak that I had my tweaters crossed over lower. We ended up using it as a kitchen table with the woofer as a plate. ;)

Really ? your friend purchased a trinty $3000 + and it was weak,Thats the joke for this weekend ![:D][:D]

Heres a post i kept from a owner of a trinty on avsforum that really owns one,you can read for yourself.Tell me it is weak and has no beef[:P].You must do more comparing with subs as i do and then go get some cash to actly buy it.Any svs sub would not come close to a trinty sorry. You better do more research before you shoot off your mouth. And if you do get one Cas and demo it for 2 minutes,You better check your pants[:D]

Post :I finally got my Definitive system up and running. For those of you that wanted to know my opinion comparing it to my Klipsch Ultra II set up. In the same room the Definitive is a nice change the sound is a more diffused all around just like it sounded at my friends house. The Klipsch system is a more in your face sound. One thing quite honestly that I was concerned about and am no longer, is the Trinity sub. This thing goes lower than the Klipsch Ultra IIs. My last 4 subs where HGS15, HGS18, DD15 and Klipsch Ultra IIs two of them. The Trinity rocks! I don't regret this purchase one bit, this system is here to stay no ebay for me!. This is all my opinion on what I heard in my room.

  3. I really appreciate your input. However, while the Sunfire may be the best, I am really stretching the limit here from a budget perspective.

Since I am really looking at a sub for movies, based on your comments, I am leaning to the Paradigm.

However, I visited a store today to listen to the Paradigm. Since they did not have the 12, I listened to the 10. More importantly, they also had the Ultracube, so I compared them. Needless to say, I am confused.

When both are set at same volume level (say 1 o'clock position), the ultracube actually had a higher output. The Seismic had to be set at almost 3 o'clock to deliver the same output. Now having said that, I did notice that the Seismic appeared to be a little bit beter controlled at the various volume settings.

What am I to make of this? My assumption is that at really high volumes, the Ultracube will become distorted compared to the Seismic. Is that a correct assumption?

Just looking for some expert advice on the dynamics of subwoofers.

    Thanks

    Greg

Greg go back to your shop and compare the pw2100 sub to the others and tell me what you think,You may change your mind.
  4. If you have that kind of cash for a rsw15,You might as well just buy a sub from a manufacture. Some of the slap on plate amps sold will not compete in quality to amps made for manufactures like klipsch and others.Good plate amps can be found on line but they are big$,You are better off running a separate amp to drive them,As for drivers you can use some of Adires or some of jbl high end drivers,If you really want some thing to kick butt get some TAD drivers,But they are expensive,I am not handy my self with wood ,thats why I perfer to buy a sub already completed ,And for the box try to find a good carpenter to whip up a 1" mdf box with a 2" front plate where the 15" driver will sit.

  5. Ear I need your help to sort my wires[:D]Yes when you get this much equipment as I and the Ear,-- a trinty in the corner ,two paradighm 2100 subs ,sub12,and all the rest,You say the hell with the wires add more equipment[:)]But yes I need a good cleanup.

  6. Its no wonder why no one posted here,You actly want me to believe that ?Ultracube more deeper more powerful bass.[:o],I tried the ultra cube for 3 hours and there is many subs, and cheaper subs less than half the price that would put it to shame.[:P]

  7. I think they were on their way of pi$$ing you off good Scooterdog,You have excellent equipment and i think you have a outstanding theater room,I have had my La scalas for the last 19 yrs,If someone mentions that my speakers are out dated ,and i must junk them, they know squat to begin with. And if you do decide to throw them out Scooter,I will be at your curb side at garbage day.[:D]

  8. Just a question Arthur ,? I never looked into it myself but ,Why did Quantum sell out.I have had a couple drives from them for years with no problems. And others that own them are having good use with them as well,They are excellent, fast and silent.
