I thought I read here that the LaScala's aren't lacking in bass at all. I thought I read the LaScala has all the bass that's "fit to hear"? []
-
IMHO RCAs would be a step up from the Sovteks, but at a price premium. The Sovteks are the best "bang for the buck" 2A3s.

I have promedias on one of my PCs.

cough cough bullsh!t your busted dude. Oh and as they say I am what I am. I'll be darned if I will put up false front just to get more business. Most of the people that would not respect me for standing up for myself, what I believe and my honesty I wouldn't want for customers anyway! If I was out to get rich I sure as heck wouldn't be rebuilding vintage gear!! My life does not revolve around money I gave that quest up when it landed me in the hospital.
Craig
It isn't your business that I object to, although you certainly take every opportunity to plug it whenever you can on this forum. I have no doubt that you can rebuild/repair gear well.
What I object to is your bullying of anyone and everyone who disagrees with you on any subject and your overbearing "take my advise or shove it" attitude. []

Your mother must be so proud! []
Actually she is very proud tells me all the time. Its yours I'm worried about. What does the word A$$ offend you? You sit on onme everyday you know. Oh wait I forgot in your case you talk out it regularly.
But you know I wasn't raised in the Winnie spineless fashion you must of been.
I wonder who your a sock puppet for anyway?
Craig
In all actuality I think you share a lot of good advise and and I value your opinions in a lot of threads. It is only when you resort to your blowhard bullying attitude that I feel compelled to interject. Also, IMHO, you would increase your credibility if you didn't resort to foul language when your comments are questioned.
BTW my puppet don't need no socks!

Craig, your reading comprehension and writing skills are failing you again.

[soapbox]
Every doctor needs malpractice insurance and it is especially necessary and costly because too many lawyers are willing to file frivolous lawsuits. We need a "loser pays" system put in place to help curb the cost of medical care in America!

Once again your talking out your a$$. I think I have logged about 4 hours or so privately on the phone with Lisa!!
Craig
Ahh, I understand now. She speaks to you at length and then posts the question here to see how you will spell the answers? Seems to me she could do that via email. []
BTW do you kiss your mother with that mouth?

Thanks. I'm going to keep this marketing ploy in mind for the future. Whenever I want to sell something, I'll put up a post saying it is *not* for sale. Human psychology being what it is, such a tactic is bound to get some attention.
Your best strategy may be to change your moniker when selling something. []

Quoting posts out of context is easy. Go stand in the corner for an hour.

b. my reference to tube amps wasn't in seriousness, it was to demonstrate the ridiculousness of your 'review'. I've not spent enough time with enough them to formulate a valid opinion. I'd suggest that your personal experience with Crown is similar.
Colterphoto didn't diss tube amps; re-read what he wrote.
-
Perhaps I misread the thread(s) but she was asking questions in general, not answers from you in particular?
-
From what I heard last weekend any Crown will grate your ears into submission no problem all all. Pick your poison.
Craig
Evidently there are many who disagree. I've never heard a D-45 so I can't comment, have you actually listened to a D-45?
-
Heideana, you might want to check out this thread about Crowns:

I don't want to mess with Rick's (3dzapper) new thread (titled "No Respect") but it seems he is doing a great job on his project. Congratulations Rick!
I'm a bit confused though. NOSValves states in 3dzapper's new thread "Hey but anyone can do it ask Erik [].................................. "
Erik is in the camp that anyone with some practice and patience can learn to solder and work on a piece of electronics. Craig disagrees. Seems to me that Rick's success would be a vote in Eriks favor not Craig's. We would need to see posts of unsucessfull projects to support Craig's view [].........................
-
You flatter yourself.
-
Craig, I thought you didn't read Erik's posts? You are showing your true colors!
Blowhard feels the need to precent his credentals before entering the fry - even if they are irreletive to the discuction. For eksample, in a movie forum conflkt he might attempt to settle the matter by saying, "As a Ph. D. kandidate in partical phyiks I believe I can cay with some authoruity that the 'Beavus and Buthed' movie reprecents the emergentce of a new kultural paradimm." Huh?
-
You evidently find reading in general painful! []
-
I think you miscounted - that is the 4th time you typed it.
-
I should ask the same question of Erik; how long have you been building amps, Erik?
I have been lurking on this forum for quite some time. There are many many folks here who deserve respect; IMHO it just seems that some folks seem to demand respect but aren't willing to give any. []

The AudiogoN 2A3s could be a good deal if more were known about them - they are barely more expensive than a new pair of Sovteks. That being said, Sovteks are very good for every day listening but a pair of 1940s RCA JAN-CRC 2A3s black plates for special occasions are mighty nice to have on hand! 2A3 mono plates are the ultimate but out of my price range!
