Speakers were picked up on monday the 26. The new owner is a first time Klipsch
owner. He will be running them on a tube amp. When he got them home he noticed
a sound level difference between the two. About 30 %. Found loose connection on
crossover and informed me all 100% sounding now. I will miss them. I will never
find another speaker ever to match them. If I ever can offord it, I will buy K-Horns.
But 2 things first, much bigger room and more money.

My La Scalas were purchased in late 78. The amp and pre that my brother used when he had them
was a Mitsubishi da-a15 power amp and a da-p10 pre amp bought at the same time. I bought his set
up about 5 years ago. I think they sound absolutly fanaminal. I have done many dances with this set as a dj.
This is my own personal opinion.

The oak venner finish on my 1978 La Scalas. When my brother owned them
from new, they were then black finish. He vennered them for his living room.
I bought them 5 years ago for djing. They sound great, but the chips in the
veneer. I wish they were black again.

I use a soundblaster live sound card and musicmatch as my player for at home.
The great thing about the live 5.1 card is that you can use it as 5.1 or plain
2 channel stereo. You can also use it as a 4 channel. Control 2 amps for
stereo sound front and rear. Get musichmatch 10 for a player. It can also
be used to put your cds on the hard drive.I have been using this set up for 4 years
with no problems at all.
-
All my cds are on my hard drive at 128k. I use Musicmatch as my player and the music
sounds great in my La Scalas. Ah the pc. The worlds best jukebox.
-
Way to go. I bought my 1978 LaScalas with type AA crossovers after I was married.
Going to build a room just for my stereo.

I use Rat Shack cables for years. All my cables for my DJ outfit is from
Rat Shack. In Canada it is now called The Source. You could look for
other places but you will probably pay more than they are worth.

Happy to get the money, but sad to see them go.
Bought them 5 years ago with the Mitsubishi DA-A15 power amp and the DA-P10 pre for $900.00.
Got my money back and was able to keep the power amp and pre.
