  1. I originally had KG-4's as fronts, SC-1 for center and SS-1 for surrounds. Due to space issues I am temporaily retiring the KG-4s. I purchased what I was told were SB-2's off Craigslist that turned out to be B-2's. Now I have B-2's (not the required SB-2's), SC-1 and SS-1's. My question is do continue to look for SB-2's (or SB-1's definitely more available) or purchase a C-2 to go with the B-2's and use the SS-1's for surrounds. I understand the SS-1's would not be a direct match but is it as important with the surrounds? I guess the question is, is it better to ad the SB-1's which I can find to the SC-1 and SS-1's or buy a C-2 (which I can find) to the B-2's and settle with the unmatched SS-1's for rears. I don't want to buy both the C-2 and S-2's to match the B-2's. I am sorry if this is confusing and appreciate any feedback. Chris Austin, TX
  2. What stated is correct for the "F-2s". I was looking for the "SF-2s" which is a different speaker. I believe it is the predecessor to the F-2 but I am not sure. I definitely considered all KG-4s but space is an issue. Chris
  3. 1. how does the present system, with the kg 4's sound to you?..........(if it ain't broke don't fix it). The surround system sounds OK. I love the KG-4s but I have struggled a little getting the system (SC-1, SS-1) in balance. I just upgraded my old HTR Yamaha receiver with a new Pioneer Elite to see if that would help (microphone, auto calibration). That's when the 4 ohm issue started because the Elite will not support 4 ohm. 2. IF- you were to Purchase SF2s , wouldn't you need to replace your center speaker to match the SF 2? i.e. the SC2 I don't think so, Klipsch shows the SC-1 matched up with the SF-2. It is possible after hearing them together that the center may need to be a little more robust. 3. Have you tried Best Buy. com or Vann's.com , j&r music, or 6Ave electronics.com ? Yes I tried them. The SF-2 and SF-1 for that matter have not been manufactured since 2004 I believe. They will have to be used or someone who happens to have them in a batch of discontinued merchndise. At this point I am hoping to find out my KG-4s are 6 ohm so I can keep what I have. I have emailed Klipsch's tech support to see what their take is. I know the website lists them as 6 ohm but I guess it is possible that they were originally 4 ohm and later changed so it would depend on which one you have. I am trying to get a decent system without having to put to much more $$$ into a line that was discontinued years ago. At some point you just got to start over....$$$$$....ouch. The biggest problem right now is I just don't want to box up my KG-4's, period.
  4. I currently have KG-4 fronts, SC-1 center and SS-1 surrounds. I just recently purchased a new Pioneer Elite receiver and much to my dismay it does not support my 4 ohm KG-4s. So instead of returning the reciever I am thinking about replacing the KG-4s with SF-2s and moving the KG-4s to the bedroom for music. The problem is I can't find SF-2s. I have been watching Ebay and Craigslist and nothing except SF-1s. Any ideas on how to locate a decent pair of SF-2s or maybe a different solution to my dilemma? Thanks in advance for the help. 5. I have a home theater setup anchored by KG 4s. I have had the KG4s since the late eightys and I love them. I recently set up a home theater using SC-1 and SS-1s. The amp is a Yamaha HTR-5280 purducing 100w per channel. I choose the surround speakers from Klipsch's website recommendation chart which I can no longer find. Does anyone know if it still exists and if so where do I find it? My main question is the center speaker, I am a little dissappointed in its performance. It seems a little subdued and not quite as clear and crisp I would like. Does anyone have a recommendation for a different model that matches tonally(?) with the KG 4s and the SS-1s? Thanks in advance for the feedback. How did we ever make make informed decisions before these forums were available? Oh yeah one other thing. I just upgraded to HDTV. My TV, Sony XBR 34" CRT, has only one HDMI input. My amp obviously doesn't handle HDMI but with I would like to also upgrade my DVD to one that handles this type of connection. Is there anything out there that will allow you to manage more than one HDMI (or DVI) output device when you have only one input on your TV. I know some amps will now do this but they are expensive and out of my budget for now. Thanks agian. Newbie, Chris Austin, TX
