  1. I've owned an iFi for several years now and it's been great! However, I have gotten to the point where I'm using the iFi as more of CInema and computer speaker system rather than an ipod system. I hooked my computer up to the line in port and I hooked my tv up to the Aux line in port at the back of the doc. Everything seems to be working fine, however there is no center channel for voices. This sort of bothers me because on lots of Blu Rays the music overwhelms the dialog. Should I think about scrapping my ifi and just starting over? Or is there something I can do with my ifi? Thanks.
  2. I just purchased an HDTV and I would like to hook up the TV to my iFi. I'm pretty sure I just hook right into the back of the dock via the AUX port. However, what kind of cable am I suppose to use? What would connect to the HDTV and then hook into the AUX port on the dock? Also, should connect to the iFi directly from my HDTV or from the cable box? Does it matter? In addition, I have my computer speakers hooked into the back of the subwoofer. If I plug into the Aux port with my TV, will I no longer be able to hear sound out of my computer? (Or does hooking into the iFi dock only disable listening to your ipod in the dock?) Thanks for the help.
  3. Regardless of whether I hook up my Grooves to an iPod or MacPro tower, whenever I shut the speakers off and back on again they reset back down to a lower volume. (Definitely not the same volume that I had them at when they were last turned on.) Does anyone know why this occurs and if there is something wrong with my speakers?
  4. This may sound like a strange question, but I was wondering about the best way to turn on the iFi. One way that I dislike is when the iFi and iPod are both off and I place the iPod in the dock. This automatically turns the iPod and IFi on and makes the iPod play automatically. (But for some reason the sound is blasting.) Does anyone else have this occur? The best way seems to be when you turn both the iFi on and the iPod on before putting it in the dock. After inserting the iPod you just have to press play. Any comments are most appreciated.
  5. I'm sure this is normal, but I was hoping others could confirm the same activity on their iFi. After my ipod is finished playing through a playlist it will revert back to the main menu and eventually just turn off when I leave it inactive. Then, when I walk over to the doc to hold the standby button to put the whole system into standby the system will shut off, but the ipod turns back on and appears to be playing. Is this normal?
  6. Does anyone set their ipod Equalizer setting to anything in particular to get the best output from their ifi? Thanks for the help.
  7. Is there anyway to play an FM radio through the ifi? Thanks for the help.
  8. So, you would definitely not recommend ever using a silicon case with the iFi? I suppose the best option would be to use a case that you can easily remove the entire ipod from and then put the ipod in the iFi. Afterwards, I could just slip the ipod back into the case. I think the showcase is coming out with a 30 gb version for the ipod video. I might wait to get this one. Thanks for the advice.
  9. I haven't purchased a case for my 30 gb ipod yet, however I plan on also purchasing the iFi. Does anyone have any luck with fitting an ipod into the iFi dock with a case on? Thanks again.
  10. I'm debating on whether or not the iFi is the right system for me. I am also considering the Bose Sounddock as well as the Klipsch iGroove. My problem is, I live in an apartment, so I don't want to pump up the music too loud and cause problems with the neighbors. However, at the same time, I like music to sound clear and full. (And I have never had a really great system to do so.) Does the iFi sound very good even at low volume levels? Or do I just defeat the point of getting this speaker system by keeping it at a lower volume? Should I just go with the iGroove if I don't plan to play music very loud? Thanks for the help.
  11. Thanks for directing me to that Link. Since the two RCA cables are being brought down to one, will the speakers still play in stereo? Is there a loss in quality because the cables are being brought down to one? I'm new to all of this, so any advice and help is much appreciated.
  12. Is there anyway to hook the ifi system up to a television? Thanks so much for the advice.
