I should mention that it makes the noise even when the 8 pin plug from the "control speaker" is not plugged in. Are there any known issues with the power amp wearing out or something of that nature?

Hi, A few months ago my sub started making this strange white noise, even when the system is turned off. The only way to stop the noise is to unplug the system. It's so bad now that I don't even have the system plugged in unless there's something I really need to listen to and don't want to use my headphones... Any suggestions or tests I should try? I don't mind messing around on circuit boards, soldering, and that sort of thing, if that's what it's going to take. I love the 4.1 system- just wish it was working 100% right now. Thanks- Scot
