  1. I hoped for the best and plugged in my ipod over the weekend. There was a loud buzzing sound coming from the speakers when the ipod did a cold start up(apple logo) from the dock. Must be the crosstalk that Andy mentioned. But the music sounded the same and the dock charged the ipod liked before. I guess I'll use this set-up since I can't find a proper extension cable.
  2. I was planning to place my iFi subwoofer and dock in different areas of the room. The only way to do that was to find an extension cord for the dock. Had a really hard time looking for the appropriate cable but, I managed to get this Mini Din 9 pin cable (Part# 10M4-01206) from here... http://www.cablewholesale.com/cgi-bin/search.cgi?text=minidin9 The plugs match and fit perfectly, but there's some static (clicking sound) when I adjust the volume "up" and "down" on the dock. The extension cable was noticeable thinner than the one that's attached to the dock. I didn't try it out with my ipod yet, since I wasn't sure if this would harm my device or not. Maybe, I'll try it out tonite to see what happens. Anybody have any ideas as to where the static is coming from? Or if there is a place I can get a compatible cable?
  3. So, do you guys think this set-up would work?[:^)] I don't want to blow up my speakers or receiver. Can you guys think up of another way to use 2 sets of iFi for hometheater?
  4. Currently using my iFi for my ipod and TV, it's awesome. Just picked up another set for cheap. So, now I got two sets of iFi and would like to use them for my hometheater set-up. I know from reading the forum that the iFi sub and rsx-3s are optimized to work together. And hooking them up to a receiver would not be ideal. But since I love the iFi and I don't want to spend big $$$ on a legit hometheater, I would like to make these work. I'm still new to HT. Not sure if this is possible, but can I hook up it up this way... Fronts ------------ iFi + 1/8" stereo phone plug to two RCA + 1-female RCA Y-adapter to 2-male RCA (each for Left and Right) + Receiver Rear ------------ iFi + 1/8" stereo phone plug to two RCA + 1-female RCA Y-adapter to 2-male RCA (each for Left and Right) + Receiver So end up with 4 iFi RSX-3s and 2 iFi subs. Set front speakers to "large" and have the receiver push the LFE to the fronts. What I'm trying to do is have the receiver push the sound unfiltered and have the iFi amp do the work. Am I dreaming here?
