  1. Gilbert, It appears that Triceratops is not playing, yet. If he lives in the Pendleton, OR area, that might work as I get down to Tri-Cities, WA on fairly regular occasions. Otherwise, he's probably too far west, i.e., Portland, which is actually closer to Seattle than Spokane. I'm on the far east side of the state, close to the Idaho border. As for gear, I have two set-ups: 2 channel system Vintage Fisher tubes, X202 Arcam Diva CD-92? Altec Lansing Stonehenge IIs (presently listening to the Heresy IIs and Tim Forman's Emmas - near speaker manufacturer in Seattle area) 5.1 channel system Adcom 7607 amp - 125 wpc Denon 3803 - presently being used as Pre Denon 2200 Universal DVD/CDP (4) Ascend CBM 170s as fronts and surrounds Ascend 340c as center channel M & K subwoofer - has 12" dual subwoofers Obviously, the 2 channel system is where all my current efforts are going to see what I can do with the sound. My wife doesn't think that the Altecs are large enough so Peter recommended the Klipschorns - NOT!!!!
  2. Oscarsear, OK, we're going to have to put this together for a number of reasons. One, I really want to hear the Klipschorns and, as you know, we live in the audio desert since Magnolia Hi-Fi closed up shop. In other words, there's simply not that many places around hear to hear decent speakers. Second, BRUINS BABY, UCLA grad of 1976, wife is grad of 1977. Gave up 50 yard line seats at the Rosebowl for UCLA home games when I moved to the great white north. OK, Peter, it's possibly not as great or as white as where you live. LOL Third, anybody from Post Falls has to be a pretty decent guy or gal. Let's talk further.
  3. Mungkiman, I borrowed Heresy IIs. They are OK sounding but Peter said I need to hear the real thing to understand the difference. I've got a pair of vintage Altec Lansing Stonehenge IIs that were recently reconed but we found a problem with one of the woofers after that repair so they are still not up and running. Peter suggested that if I like the Als, I'll love the Klipschorns. SO, that's the quest.
  4. Hello All, I'm new to the forum and Peter the Great, my Canadian friend, suggested I ask whether anyone owns Klipschorns near Spokane, WA and if any such person would be willing to preview their speakers for me. I have some vintage Altec Stonehenge IIs, I'm borrowing a pair of Vintage Klipsch Heritages from a friend and I would like to hear what Peter keeps bragging about. Any takers, please email. Thanks.
