  1. I'm considering having Peter McAlister build me a custom Integrated Tube Amp. I have a choice between a Single Ended @15 watts per channel or an AB1 @ 70 watts per channel. Not sure which would be better to drive a pair of Forte Originals or how much (if any) of an upgrade it would be compared to my NOS Valves Scott 299B.
  2. Getting the upgrade bug. Any thoughts or opinions on the McAlister Tube Amps. Are they a good match with Klipsch?
  3. Another CAM member contacted the selling to advise them that their price was too low!
  4. Thanks. It's just the center dome on one of the passive radiators at the rear.
  5. Would a pushed-in passive radiator cone on a Forte I have any affect on the sound? Is there a way to fix? Is it worth trying to fix or simply something cosmetic?
  6. I'm looking for a basic CD Player. I listen to mostly vinyl (rock, folk, etc), but need to add a CDP. There are good deals currently on the Cambridge 540c v2 & 640c v2. Does anyone have experience with the Cambridge or recommend other entry players? Thanks
  7. Thanks for the suggestions. I was able to find a pair of Forte Originals locally. Listening as I type...very nice
  8. Thanks for the responses. I may go have a listen to them over the weekend. Any idea what the Forte I in excellent condition would be worth? Also, assuming that they are 20 years old, would there require any major work (caps, etc)?
  9. Is there a big difference between the Forte I & IIs? There is a pair of Forte I available locally, that I am considering.
  10. I am currenty using a Scott 299B to drive a pair of Heresy IIs. I've had this setup for a couple of years and enjoy it, but am looking for a bit more in the speaker department. Any suggestions would be appreciated. My setup is in the basement (approx 25'x14' space) and I play mainly vinyl (rock). Thanks.
  11. Looking for used (sub $1000) amp recommendations that will best match a pair of Heresy II speakers. Mainly for listening to rock music genre.
