I was looking for some kind of floor led lightinf for my HT (like the
stuff in the movie theaters), but then I ran across this
stuff! It is fairly cheap and really looks neat, the
possibilities are endless.
Take a look!

I just wanted to thank everyone for the info and links. I
recieved my foam on Friday from foam by mail, and I finished putting it
up yesterday.
I used 8 bass trap, and 2" foam. My room is just under 800 square
feet (excluding the carpeted floor) and I now have 100 square feet of
foam for a total of 12.5% coverage.
What a huge diffrence this has made, much more than I thought was
possible. The ecos have been reduced approx 80%, and I placed
about 1/3 of the pieces in the reflection spots. My sub woofer
is now very clean sounding, and has more punch. I am going to order a
little bit more for the room and the long hallway leading to my
HT.
It is amazing that $250 of foam made my many thousands of dollars
system sound so much better! If you haven't done this yet I
highly recomend it! []

I know the RC-64 has 2 extra woofers and a larger tweeter, but what is the real advantage over the RC-62?
I just don't get it. The RC-62 is ported in the front and
drops to 57Hz compared to the RC-64's 62Hz.
And what is the difference between "Cerametallic woofers" and "High-output Cerametallic woofers"
Does the 64 have more
"punch" because they are "High-output" or because of the extra woofers?
Why isn't the 64 ported to have a similar or better range than the 62?
Has anyone been able to do a side by side comparison?
Thanks

Very nice!

HAHA! That was done very well!

Ever since I bought my Mitsubishi Diamond DLP I have noticed this
too. The biggiest thing I have noticed is that the effects
or anything that is computer generated looks almost perfect, but
anything analog (actual images from a camera people, cars, ect)
looks grainy. I can really see it when both are in the same
frame.

DrWho,
Thanks so much for the links.... the foam is so much cheaper that what I was looking at. []

Thank you for the info.
After doing a few hours of research I think I might start with the following:
Bass Traps : http://truesoundcontrol.com/products/MTRLEN8.html
Foam Panels : http://www.truesoundcontrol.com/products/SFLAT8.html
I might even go with some smaller 1'x1' foam panels for the smaller areas.
After all this reading and even some R&D in my HT, I never realized
how much eco my room produces. I really think these things will help me
out quite a bit.

How important are they, I was thinking about getting 4 2'x2' foam panels and bass traps for the corners of the room.
I am having a hard time finding any useful info on the net, what are the best and most effective types?
If you have them please let me know if they are worth the money. What did you install, how effective were they.
Thanks

Thanks guys for the replies!
BobG so would you then suggest a RF-83 in front and RF-82 or a RF-63's in the back?
I mostly do watch movies in my HT, so I like your idea of putting smaller speakers in the back.
I am not too excited about having the RF-63 as front speakers because
of the smaller woofer size. ( even though it does have greater
range) I am worried that my room is too big to use the smaller
speakers in the front.
What are the approx. cost diffrence between the the RF-63, RF-82, and the RF83.
Boomac- I LOVE my Diamond TV, it has the best picture IMO.
At the time I bought mine the only bigger size I believe was an 80", I
would have bought it if it weren't for the $25,000 price tag. lol
Thanks for the info jeff, but I don't live near there.

Hi everyone, my first post is about my HT...
Before I get to my question I want to list what I have...
62" Mitsubishi Diamond DLP
Sony 5000ES Reciever 175w x 7
KSW-200 Sub
RC-3 Center
Junk fronts and junk rears
I want to get RF-5's for the front and for the rear, and some type of surround speaker for the sides.
I also want to up grade my sub one of these days, too.
My HT room is 20'L x 12'W would the RF-5's be good for this set
up. By reading alot of these posts I know that the RF-7 is highly
sought after, but I really don't think I need them in my small room. I
would rather stick with the 8" RF-5. Plus the RF-7's are a
little to pricey for me.
I would really appriciate your imput.
Thanks,

Lets talk Power!

Before we get started I noticed that most of you use Monster Power
products, so let me say that I love their products.... but lets be fair
to the other brands too.
I want a great power filter/protecter. I have been looking at
Monter Power for an hour or so, and I like them. So I did a web
search to find the best price.... well I found this at Amazon.com for only $149.00! It has a 2775 joule rating! I almost bought it on the spot.
But I hesitated because my entire HT system is brushed
alum./silver so the Monster Power would look a little funny with
my system.
Then I ran across this beauty for $310.99. It matchs my system and to my surpise it has 6490 Joules of Surge Protection and 330,000 Amp Maximum Spike Amperage.
Does anyone have a belkin? It really would match my system better and it has over double the protection.
