  1. I really want a RC7 but what is the use to spend the money if you get the same result?

Hey Jeff. What are your front speakers? I have an RC-7 and RF-63's and run my front 3 on "large" and it really helped out the midrange. I have my sub crossed over at 60 and I can tell you that it get's a pretty good workout during movies. I can see both of the drivers moving. But, you also have to remember the RC-3 has 2- 6" drivers compared to 2- 8" on the RC-7. The RC-7 is whole different beast than the RC-3..

  2. Thanks for the response so I read the post did you end up pulling the trigger? and if so How do you like it now?

He hasn't posted for more than a year here, so chanced are we'll probably never know. Do a quick search and read some opinions out there. There's alot of great info here if you know how to use the search function. Just type in RF-82 with RC-64 or something similar and start reading. I'm sure you'll find some useful info.. Good luck

  3. I'd call them first.. 1-800-klipsch Speak to someone in technical assistance and tell them what your problem is. They may just walk you through it and avoid the hassle and expense of shipping it. Their customer service is top notch..

  4. Yes. A dedicated amp for your RF-7's would be great. What I would do is...

Sell your KSF 8.5's, keep your RS-7's, and just go with 5.1 for now.

    Sell your Denon 4802.

With the money you get for your KSF's and your Denon, buy a nice 5 channel amp and use your Onkyo as your preamp, especially since it's got HDMI. You can get a nice 5 channel amp from Emovita for $799. http://emotiva.com/xpa5.shtm Or...

You can buy the XPA-3 for $599 to power your front 3 and let your Onkyo power your surrounds. http://emotiva.com/xpa3.shtm

I'd probalby go with option 2 and get the XPA-3. You'lll notice a HUGE difference when you feed those monsters some true power. Your surrounds will be fine using the Onkyo's amp. Later down the road or whenever you can swing it, a pair of reference bookshelf's for your rear surrounds will do just fine.....I'm sure Wuzzer will chime in shortly.. He's pretty sharp when it comes to making these decisions:)

  5. Sweet!! I'm happy for you. Any chance you can take a pic or two of the back of both units? I'm curious how your running the wires. So basically, your marantz 7001 is now your pre-amp? Are you just running cables from your marantz pre-out's to the inputs on the UPA? What cables are you using? I'm thinking about getting the same amp. Thanks for the recommendation.. I feel better about buying one now[Y]

  6. I remember when I bought my first klipsch speakers ( RF-3's) I put them right up against the wall, not knowing anything about rear ported speakers, until I read a couple of threads here in the fourms. I honestly really liked the way they sounded before I moved them away from the wall.. I didn't have any complaints... But then when I actually moved them out, only a few inches, the sound just opended up and I then realized that they actually sounded better... The moral of the story is... I didn't know the potentail of my speakers, even though they sounded good to me, until I did some research. Eventually, when time allows, Rick will probably take them out of the cabinet's and be amazed at the difference. But, like he said, he doesn't feel comfortable doing so with a 1 year old running around, which I don't blame a bit. This is a great forum with lot's of great people and I really didn't mean to start anythng. I just felt like Rick was getting bashed because of his limitations and by placing them upside down. I'm just saying...
